Are you and/or your kids a little bit bored with the theme parks being run by The Walt Disney Company (NYSE:DIS) or Six Flags Entertainment Corp. (NYSE:SIX)? As it turns out, you’re not alone. While Six Flags Entertainment may be the king of the roller coaster wars (in quantity, with some good quality in the mix too) and Disney Land and Disney World are of course two of the most-polished and charming amusement parks in the world, in a world that’s increasingly digital and a culture that’s increasingly loves being spooked and mystified, DIS and SIX may be missing the proverbial boat. It’s an up-and-coming theme park like the one(s) being designed by Independent Film Development Corporation (OTCMKTS:IFLM) – aka IndyFilmCorp – that’s poised to hit the new consumer nail on the head.

Just as the name would imply, by Independent Film Development Corporation is the owner of a decent library of rights to television shows and movies (The Three Stooges, for one), and the maker of some other solid television programs (for example, the Autograph celebrity spotlight series). But a foray into amusement parks? It’s not as crazy as it sounds. Indeed, aside from the fact that it worked for The Walt Disney Company, it’s perfectly fitting that an organization involved in film and television is developing the next great theme park.

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Ben Levisohn]

Shares of Williams-Sonoma (WSM) have tumbled today after the home-products retailer offered a disappointing outlook even as it met second-quarter earnings forecasts.

Williams-Sonoma reported a profit of 53 cents a share, in line with estimates, on revenue of $1.04 billion, also meeting expectations. That alone would probably have been enough to send Williams-Sonoma’s shares lower since they were trading near a 52-week high right before the release. Throw in the sour guidance–Williams-Sonoma expected to earn $3.07 to $3.17 a share in 2014, below forecasts for $3.21–and you have the recipe for destruction.

Williams-Sonoma’s shares have dropped 11% to $66.75 at 10:20 a.m. Morgan Stanley’s Simeon Gutman and team explain why they downgraded Williams-Sonoma’s shares to Equal Weight despite the stock getting pounded today:

While Q2 EPS was solid and in-line, we were expecting a carry-over in top-line momentum from previous quarters and comparable brand growth in the high single digits. We did not get this (Q2 comparable brand growth +5.7%), due to competition and tougher compares and now no longer believe the business will generate this level of growth in the near-term. Valuation (19x 2015e earnings) is not as supportive of a business that we now see generating low teens growth over the next 12 months.

Williams-Sonoma’s PEG rate was elevated recently given positive earnings surprises. The PEG rate rose to ~1.6x vs. the one year average at 1.45x and the three year average of 1.3x. With earnings growth accelerating, this seemed appropriate and we believed these valuation levels would continue. But, with the rate of change moderating (albeit still healthy) the PEG may come back in. Even after tonight’s stock move, there could be 2 turns of EPS multiple risk. The stock does not necessarily have much downside, but it could mark time as near-term earnings growth is digested.

Another stock that insiders are loading up on here is InnerWorkings (INWK), which is a provider of managed print and promotional procurement solutions to corporate clients across a range of industries. Insiders are buying this stock into significant weakness, since shares are off by 49% so far in 2013.

InnerWorkings has a market cap of $357 million and an enterprise value of $425 million. This stock trades at a fair valuation, with a trailing price-to-earnings of 23.20 and a forward price-to-earnings of 23.20. Its estimated growth rate for this year is -75.6%, and for next year it’s pegged at 200%. This is not a cash-rich company, since the total cash position on its balance sheet is $19.22 million and its total debt is $91.50 million.

A beneficial owner just bought 32,000 shares, or about $214,000 worth of stock, at $6.69 to per share. That same beneficial owner also just bought 108,700 shares, or about $727,000 worth of stock, at $6.69 to $6.70 per share.

From a technical perspective, INWK is currently trending below both its 50-day and 200-day moving averages, which is bearish. This stock gapped down sharply in November from $9.75 to $5.54 a share with heavy downside volume. Following that gap down, shares of INWK have reversed its bearish trend and entered an uptrend, with the stock moving higher from its low of $5.54 to $7.21 a share. That move has now pushed shares of INWK within range of triggering a major breakout trade.

If you’re bullish on INWK, then I would look for long-biased trades as long as this stock is trending above some key near-term support at $6.42 and then once it breaks out above some near-term overhead resistance levels at $7.07 to $7.21 a share with high volume. Look for a sustained move or close above those levels with volume that hits near or above its three-month average volume of 530,297 shares. If that breakout hits soon, then INWK will set up to re-fill some of its previous gap down zone from Novembe
