Nokia’s HERE division is worth E1bn assuming a similar market cap as TomTom (TMOAF.PK) but offers significant upside as maps become the next platform for e-commerce. Assuming Nokia’s net cash position declines to E2bn at Q3 from E4.1bn in Q2 (given the E1.7bn NSN deal as well as incremental cash burn due to supporting product launches), the combined value of Nokia’s Net Cash, HERE division and NSN division is in line with the current market cap of Nokia.

On the capitalization side, Santander has gotten significantly better, and I would expect the bank to show a Basel 2 tier 1 capital ratio of 12% by the end of 2014, which is around what most analysts expect for its closest peer, Banco Bilbao Viscaya Argentaria (BBVA) – most commonly known as BBVA.

If you’re looking for an income-producing dividend stock to fill the void, consider the classic pure plays AT&T (T) and Verizon (VZ).

    Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA)

When it comes to suspending dividends, the Europeans don’t want to be left out. In October, Spain’s biggest financial institution, Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA), cut its annual dividend by putting a cap on payouts for 2014 (and going forward) to 40% of profits.

A.F.P Provida SA also has operations through its subsidiaries in Peru, Ecuador and Mexico. Under former dictator Pinochet, Chile privatized its otherwise bankrupted social security program and mandates its citizens to invest a certain portion of their wages with government-endorsed asset management firms like A.F.P Provida SA. Right now, A.F.P Provida SA has a trailing P/E of 6.33 along with a forward dividend of $10.89 for a 12% dividend yield, but there is also a big catch. Back in February, it was reported that Metlife Inc (NYSE: MET) would acquire the firm from Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria SA (NYSE: BBVA) in a d eal valued at about $2 billion in order to add fee income in Latin America – meaning that juicy dividend is no longer a sure bet for investors. On Monday, small cap A.F.P Provida SA rose 0.28% to $90.80 (PVD has 52 week trading range of $82.60 to $112.79 a share) for a market cap of $2.01 billion plus the stock is down 9.1% since the start of the year, up 2.3% over the past year and up 205.7% over the past five years.
