Below is the verbatim transcript of Vaid’s interview on the channel.
Q: How important is it for a person to close their dormant bank or demat accounts or insurance policies that have lapsed? What are the implications if this is not done?
A: It is important that bank accounts which are dormant along with insurance policies and the demat account should be closed. Talking about bank account; many a time people keep changing jobs regularly and every time they go into a new job they get to open new salary account. If that dormant account is not closed and some money is left in that bank account then bank, in order to recover the banking charges, keep deducting that money and that is a loss to that person. Therefore, if one is not using that particular bank account then he should move the money and close that bank account.
Similarly, for insurance policies; many times in endowment plans, after paying for four-five years one is not able to afford the payment of premium because of liquidity crisis so he does not pay premium. Also, he does not stop the insurance policy and that can be a huge loss of money because there are surrender charges. He might get 30-40-50 percent of the policy value. Therefore, one is missing out on that and also the tendency of potential fraud increases if one is having dormant accounts that are not being closed properly.

In this series, I examine inventory using a simple rule of thumb: Inventory increases ought to roughly parallel revenue increases. If inventory bloats more quickly than sales grow, this might be a sign that expected sales haven’t materialized. Is the current inventory situation at Crane (NYSE: CR ) out of line? To figure that out, start by comparing the company’s inventory growth to sales growth. How is Crane doing by this quick checkup? At first glance, OK, it seems. Trailing-12-month revenue increased 0.6%, and inventory decreased 2.4%. Comparing the latest quarter to the prior-year quarter, the story looks decent. Revenue dropped 2.8%, and inventory contracted 2.4%. Over the sequential quarterly period, the trend looks OK but not great. Revenue dropped 0.4%, and inventory grew 2.0%.

This is NOT a judgment call on the drug. This isn’t a judgment call on the company either. This is a judgment call on how emotional and distracted traders can get from time to time, and we only have to look at Antares Pharma Inc. (NASDAQ:ATRS), Avanir Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ:AVNR), and VIVUS, Inc. (NASDAQ:VVUS) to see how drinking the proverbial Kool-Aid ultimately punished anyone who bought rather than sold ATRS, VVUS, and AVNR right when the news seemed to incredibly encouraging.

Tuesday’s Range: $4.38-$4.59
52-Week Range: $2.34-$6.00
Tuesday’s Volume: 1.41 million
Three-Month Average Volume: 2.76 million
From a technical perspective, AVNR bounced modestly higher here right off its 50-day moving average of $4.42 with lighter-than-average volume. This move is starting to push shares of AVNR within range of triggering a big breakout trade. That trade will hit if AVNR manages to take out some near-term overhead resistance levels at $4.71 to $5.07 with high volume.
Traders should now look for long-biased trades in AVNR as long as it’s trending above some near-term support at $4.20 and then once it sustains a move or close above those breakout levels with volume that hits near or above 2.76 million shares. If that breakout hits soon, then AVNR will set up to re-test or possibly take out its 52-week high at $6.
