It’s fun to be right, but that doesn’t always mean it’s fruitful. I was right about Westinghouse Solar Inc. (OTCMKTS:WEST) being a breakout candidate when I explained the chart’s most likely technical outcome. Though it took a little more than a week for WEST to actually perform as expected, it got there. Problem: It got there in spades, solving one problem but creating another. Though I’m still bullish on this solar play, we need a new roadmap.
The chart of WEST below is what it is. Between July and September, the stock was squeezed deeper and deeper into the tip of a wedge, and during the latter part of that period shares made a ceiling at the $0.027 mark. You can also see how Westinghouse Solar wiggled its way above the upper edge of that triangle shape this month, using the 20-day (blue) and 50-day (purple) moving average lines as support to push off of. Though the 100-day moving average line (gray) helped keep the effort at bay for the better part of this month – along with that resistance at $0.027 – once all that resistance did buckle, WEST was catapulted. In retrospect, it was all very “textbook.”
