Wynn Resorts (NASDAQ:WYNN) (+98%, +4.21%, +14%, +0.44%), the U.S. and Macau gaming company, was the largest contributor to the Fund’s 2017 performance with strong earnings growth in Macau and Las Vegas. Industry gross gaming revenues (GGR) in Macau accelerated in the second half of 2017 well beyond full year GGR growth expectations. With major infrastructure projects moving closer to completion, mass visits and spending increasing, and VIPs returning, concerns about potential over-supply from significant capacity additions in Macau turned into confidence that additional hotel and gaming properties will be well absorbed by the market. Steve Wynn continued to create future value with the Boston resort expected to open in 2019, new development around the Las Vegas golf course, and the chance to pursue casino development in Japan. After the stock more than tripled from its lows two years ago and moved closer to our assessment of the company’s value, we reduced the Fund’s position.

TripAdvisor’s (NASDAQ:TRIP) latest quarterly report was a tale of two segments —  hotel and nonhotel — and the stories coming out of them are very different. But the company faces intense competition on many fronts, and it’s not entirely clear if its strengths will compensate for its weaknesses. For Activision Blizzard (NASDAQ:ATVI), though, the past few months have all been about one story: Certain rivals are eating its lunch, and analysts could tell. So when it revealed a revenue miss, weak guidance, and layoffs, the stock price recovery that followed only makes sense in the context that it came off a 52-week low.

Stocks to Watch Today: TGT, CRM, FB
This morning, shares of Target Corp. (NYSE: TGT) popped nearly 6% after a strong Q4 earnings report. The company reported earnings per share of $1.53 on total revenue of $22.98 billion. Wall Street expected $1.52 per share on sales of $22.91 billion. The firm reported very strong online sales (up 25%) and a 5.3% jump in same-store sales. Analysts had expected a 4.5% increase in same-store sales. The report is the latest sign that Target has emerged as a formidable competitor to Amazon.com Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN) and Walmart Inc. (NYSE: WMT). Facebook Inc. (NASDAQ: FB) is under fire again due to security concerns around its sign-in features. The company has not allowed users to opt out of the key feature that lets users look up others by phone number and e-mail address. Many people have added their phone numbers in the past thinking it would only be used for two-factor authentication and security. Critics argue this is the latest episode of Facebook compromising user information. Shares of Salesforce.com Inc. (NYSE: CRM) are in focus as the cloud computing giant plans to report earnings after the bell Tuesday. CRM stock is already up 20% so far this year. And many analysts expect the firm to report earnings per share of $0.55 on top of $3.56 billion in revenue. Yesterday, Salesforce co-CEO Marc Benioff predicted that $30 billion in annual revenue for the cloud computing giant is “right around the corner.” Look for earnings reports from AeroVironment Inc. Top 10 Tech Stocks To Invest In 2019

The World Bank and the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) have launched the first bond offering that was created and managed solely using blockchain technology. The A$100 million ($73.16 million) two-year, AAA-rated offering priced on Wednesday with a yield of 2.251%, 23 basis points above benchmark rates.

There have been other prototype bond issues using the blockchain (distributed ledger) mechanism, but those were mainly private placements. The World Bank issue, which is managed by CBA, is the first bond offering made directly to the public.

CBA executive general manager James Wall described the offering to Reuters earlier this month:

You’re collapsing a traditional bond issuance from a manual bookbuild process and allocation process, an extended settlement then a registrar and a custodian, into something that could happen online instantaneously.

The offering has been dubbed a “Bondi” bond, an acronym for Blockchain Operated New Debt Instrument and is an initial step in eliminating manual processes by moving toward a faster, cheaper automated system. Bondi is also the name of a famous Australian beach.

Top 5 Medical Stocks To Invest In 2019: Lands' End, Inc.(LE)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Dan Caplinger]

Tuesday saw a mixed session on Wall Street, with various market benchmarks moving in different directions. Investors seemed reasonably neutral about events in Singapore, where leaders from the U.S. and North Korea met and came to some minor agreements that viewed in the most favorable light could provide a road map for future negotiations. Yet investors seem more concerned about what the Federal Reserve’s interest rate setting board might do later in the week, with a two-day meeting starting today to consider whether further rate increases are warranted. Even with the relatively flat performance from the market, some companies had good news that sent their shares sharply higher. Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA), Sage Therapeutics (NASDAQ:SAGE), and Lands’ End (NASDAQ:LE) were among the best performers on the day. Here’s why they did so well.

The Top Stock Market Stories for Tuesday
Last night, President Trump met North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in Singapore. This was the first meeting between a sitting American president and a North Korean leader. Following the agreement, analysts noted that the document signed by both parties included no concrete details for achieving denuclearization on the Korean Peninsula. Trump responded to criticism by saying he is fully confident that the Korean dictatorship will follow through. A U.S. district court will rule on whether to approve an $85 billion merger between AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) and Time Warner Inc. (NYSE: TWX). The decision comes after about six weeks of debate in a courtroom. The ruling will likely have a significant impact on the proposed bid by The Walt Disney Co. (NYSE: DIS) for media giant Twenty-First Century Fox Inc.(NYSE: FOXA). The Fed Open Market Committee kicks off its June meeting today. The U.S. central bank is expected to raise interest rates for the second time in 2018. On Wednesday, U.S. Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell will likely announce a hike of 0.25% to the benchmark rate to 2%. This would also mark the seventh hike since December 2015. Markets will be looking for clues during Powell’s conference to determine how many additional times the Fed plans to raise interest rates during the final six months of the year.

When International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE: IBM) lays off staff, the company calls it a “resource action.” IBM employees have shortened the term to “RA” and even created a verb fittingly in the past tense “RA’d.” The term is getting a lot of use these days.

According to a January report in the U.K.’s The Register, IBM plans to reduce its Global Technology Services (GTS) workforce by “productively redeploying” about a third of the 100,000 or so of the employees. A detailed report by ProPublica and Mother Jones published late last month indicates that older U.S. workers have been hit hardest by IBM’s job cuts.

The report estimates that over the past five years about 60% of the 20,000 employees IBM have fired have been age 40 or older.

An independent website called Watching IBM includes an area where (mostly) former employees can post comments. Here’s a recent sample:

These changes are also going to affect the Consumer Discretionary and Information Technology sectors. Here’s how some companies will shift around:

Companies that are currently within the Media Industry part of the Consumer Discretionary sector will become a part of the Communications Services sector. For example, Walt Disney Co. (NYSE: DIS) and Comcast Corporation (NASDAQ: CMSCA) will join the new sector.
Select companies that are currently in the Internet & Direct Marketing Retail sub-industry in the Consumer Discretionary sector will move to the new sector. Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ: NFLX) and TripAdvisor Inc. (NASDAQ: TRIP) are two of them.
Some companies that are currently in the Information Technology sector, such as Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ: GOOG) (NASDAQ: GOOGL), Facebook Inc. (NASDAQ: FB) and Activision Blizzard, Inc. (NASDAQ: ATVI), will be grouped in the Communications Services sector.

In addition, the Internet & Direct Marketing Retail sub-industry in the Consumer Discretionary sector will now include all online marketplaces for consumer products and services, regardless of whether or not they actually hold inventory. Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. (NYSE: BABA), eBay Inc. (NYSE: EBAY), Mercado Libre Inc. (NASDAQ: MELI), among others, will now be a part of the Consumer Discretionary sector instead of the Information Technology sector, according to S&P Dow Jones Indices and MSCI.

Monday was a positive day on Wall Street, as major benchmarks jumped following an uneventful weekend, tapering their gains as the session came to a close. Some had feared that China might retaliate once again after the U.S. issued a second round of tariffs against the nation with the world’s second-largest economy, but the expected fireworks didn’t come, putting market participants more at ease. The beginning of earnings season in the next week will also distract investors from geopolitical issues, perhaps allowing indexes to climb further. Yet some individual stocks had difficulties that sent their shares lower. Yandex (NASDAQ:YNDX), Menlo Therapeutics (NASDAQ:MNLO), and MGIC Investment (NYSE:MTG) were among the worst performers on the day. Here’s why they did so poorly.

What makes it interesting

Insider buy in Concrete turnaround plan that could work (some of them are already working)

What I think the rest of the market missed

Top 10 Casino Stocks To Watch Right Now: TESARO, Inc.(TSRO)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Ben Levisohn]

Look out below! Shares of Tesaro (TSRO) have dropped more than 10% this afternoon after AstraZeneca (AZN) released stronger-than-expected Phase 3 trial data on a its ovarian cancer treatment.

    Agence France-Presse/Getty Images

The Street’sAdam Feuerstein has the details on AstraZeneca’s strong data and its impact on Tesaro:

AstraZeneca’s (AZN) PARP inhibitor Lynparza delayed the recurrence of ovarian cancer by more than two years compared to a placebo, according to results from a phase III study presented Tuesday.

The strong benefit observed with Lynparza as ovarian cancer maintenance therapy exceeded investor expectations and bolsters AstraZeneca against a competing PARP inhibitor from Tesaro (TSRO).

Feuerstein also notes that AstraZeneca’s data could be good newsClovis Oncology (CLVS), which also had a PARP inhibitor approved recently, if it means that its drug could work as well as Astra’s.

In February, Leerink cut Tesaro, arguing that the rally in its shares due to a potential takeover had run too far. Will it still be a takeover target?

Shares of Tesaro have dropped 14% to $148.01 at 3:28 p.m. today, while AstraZeneca has gained 1.1% to $30.41, and Clovis Oncology has jumped 9.8% to$66.55.

UPDATE:Piper Jaffray’sSteven Breazzano andJoshua Schimmer note that the AstraZeneca data shows that PARPs are “more similar than different.” They explain:

This afternoon AstraZeneca (covered by PJC analyst Richard Purkiss) reported the detailed results from the SOLO-2 maintenance study of Lynparza in 2L+ ovarian cancer. The detailed data highlights a PFS benefit of 14 months (investigator assessed, and primary endpoint) and 25 months (blinded central review) over placebo, and favorable hazard ratio of 0.30 and 0.25, respectively, confirming our view that the PARP’s are more similar than different. As such, we believe this provides a favorable readth

Tesaro’s (NASDAQ:TSRO)ovarian cancer drug, niraparib, will begin competing for prescriptions earlier than expected. Niraparib, which will be sold under the brand name Zejula, notched FDA approval on Monday, more than three months ahead of its June 30 decision date. The early approval setsTesaro up for a fierce battle for market share withAstraZeneca (NYSE:AZN)and Clovis Oncology (NASDAQ:CLVS), both of which market drugs that work similarly to Zejula.

  • [By Ben Levisohn]

Shares of Tesaro (TSRO) are soaring today after the biotech company reported positive data for its treatment of ovarian cancer over the weekend. Credit Suisse analyst Alethia Young and team contend that “M&A remains in focus” for Tesaro following the data:

    Getty Images

We are increasing our target price to $122 from $90 as we move to an M&A DCF valuation. We were at ESMO this weekend, and we believe the big takeaway on Tesaro data is that it works broadly in all 2L ovarian populations and safety looks solid. We also think the robustness of this data bodes well from PRIMA and QUADRA but are maintaining our POS here. We have looked at our model and also adjusted durations in first-line. We think Tesaro remains one of the most attractive and de-risked cancer assets in our landscape and the company has been cited in major press sources as a takeout target (Bloomberg, Investor Business Daily).

We think M&A remains in focus for Tesaro. Our M&A DCF valuations range from $122 to $157 by our model. We have also built models for other cancers like NSCLC, SCLC, prostate, and others where PARP might be impactful. We assume 0% POS for now but we conservatively see at least another $1B in sales from PARP expansion. Tesaro has been cited in the press as a potential M&A target and is a company we frequently hear mentioned as a target from our conversations. We think the demand for late stage oncology assets is high, especially in the PARP space given the potential for activity across a range of tumors. For a large Pharma player who already has an oncology salesforce and large R&D infrastructure we could see SG&A synergies of 50-75% and R&D synergies of 15-30%. In our base case TSRO P&L we model a tax rate of 30% so there could be synergies here as well. Two additional key swing factors which might be included in a CVR are how much expansion from PARP in other cancers and immuno-oncology…

Top 10 Casino Stocks To Watch Right Now: Edwards Lifesciences Corporation(EW)

Advisors’ Opinion:

Shares of Edwards Lifesciences (EW) jumped to the top of the S&P 500 today after the medical-device maker offered its 2017 guidance this morning at its investor day.

    Getty Images

Shares of Edwards Lifesciences gained 6.7% to $89.31 today, while the S&P 500 rose 0.2% to 2,246.19.

Wells Fargo’sLarry Biegelsen offers his take on Edwards Lifesciences’ guidance:

Edwards Lifesciences Corporation (EW-$83.73; Outperform) provided its 2017 outlook this morning (12/8) ahead of its investor meeting today. As expected, the company highlighted its robust pipeline which should drive strong growth for years to come. However, the company now expects Q4 16 revenue to come in at the low end of the guidance range due to currency and weakness in surgical heart valves. The 2017 guidance was generally strong on the top and bottom line, with both bracketing consensus.

For 2017, EW expects sales of $3.0-3.4B and 10-14% underlying growth. This compares to consensus of $3.3B and 12.3% underlying growth (were at 12.6%)… For 2017 EPS, EW expects $3.30-3.45 which includes $0.10 dilution from the Valtech deal (something we highlighted in our preview) and $0.08-0.10 benefit from the accounting change for stock based compensation. Backing these two items out implies guidance of about $3.30-3.45 which compares to consensus of $3.40 and our estimate of $3.41…

As expected, the pipeline updates were highly positive. While the initial reaction to the Q4 guidance will likely be negative, we are highly confident that the strong 2017 guidance and robust pipeline update will be the main takeaways from the meeting today.

No negativity here: Edwards Lifesciences’ market capitalization rose to $19.1 billion today from $17.9 billion yesterday. It reported net income of $495 million on sales of $2.5 billion in 2015.

Edwards Lifesciences (EW) soared to the top of the S&P 500 today after the medical-device company beat earnings and revenue forecasts, and raised its full-year guidance.

    Edwards Lifesciencesgained 11% to 109.33, while the S&P 500 dipped 0.1% to 2,387.45.

Mogran Stanley’s David Lewis andScott Wang contend that that Edwards Lifesciences is “back on track.” They explain:

US sequential acceleration returns to the prior curve and debunks the bear case. Sequential growth in US [transcatheter aortic valve replacement, or TAVR,] in 1Q17 was ~12%, more in line with the ~13.5% average growth rate seen in the five quarters leading up to 3Q16. It’s hard to pinpoint the drivers, but we see several dynamics, including: (i) underlying device utilization thus far in 1Q, (ii) faster ramp at new hospitals where one additional TAVR per center is worth $15mn (~65% of the US upside we saw this quarter), and (iii) less acute competitive pressure from Medtronic (MDT) on larger valve sizes. SURTAVI likely played a limited role but management did not rule it out. Guidance implies a more conservative q/q US growth of ~3% for the rest of the year vs the ~12% this quarter, but underlying strength in the quarter is a material shift in US growth and intermediate penetration. As we stated in our preview, we favored the risk reward into the quarter given achievable expectations and the >20 point lag vs Intuitive YTD and would expect significant recovery tomorrow. Momentum likely continues into 2Q17 as signs of improving intermediate risk penetration provide important offsets to increased competition from Boston in early-2018 before mitral takes hold.

Edwards Lifesciences’ market capitalization rose to $23.1 billion today from $20.9 billion yesterday.

Top 10 Tech Stocks To Own For 2019: Yahoo! Inc.(YHOO)

Advisors’ Opinion:

As much as traditional telecommunications is a poky business, VZ is making some interesting moves. Most famously it recently acquired the core properties of Yahoo! Inc. (YHOO) to drive new revenue streams and position itself for the future. And a little further back, Verizon acquired AOL.

A long term performance chart shows MeetMe Inc back to breakeven while Twitter Inc (NYSE: TWTR) has underperformed and Facebook Inc (NASDAQ: FB) and Yahoo! Inc (NASDAQ: YHOO) have outperformed and are heading back up again:

  • [By Stark Merrifield]

That includes Yahoo! Inc. (Nasdaq: YHOO), Amazon.com Inc. (Nasdaq: AMZN), eBay Inc. (Nasdaq: EBAY), Alphabet Inc. (Nasdaq: GOOGL), and Facebook Inc. (Nasdaq: FB) – their combined market caps are worth $1.5 trillion.

Starting with Yahoo (NSDQ:YHOO), whichrejectedMicrosoft’s (NSDQ:MSFT)$44.6 billion offer, to Groupon (NSDQ:GRPN), which shunned Google’s $6 billion buyout offer, many similar decisions have proven to be bad ones in hindsight. Snapchat is one of those few exceptions that have lived to tell the tale. At least for now. However, Facebookseems rather determined to leave no stone unturned in its fight against Snapchat.

Top 10 Tech Stocks To Own For 2019: Applied Optoelectronics, Inc.(AAOI)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Anders Bylund]

Shares of Applied Optoelectronics (NASDAQ:AAOI) closed 14.5% higher on Wednesday, having recorded a peak gain of 17.2% earlier in the trading session. An analyst firm issued an optimistic report on the stock based on good-looking checks among AAOI’s data center customers.

  • [By Anders Bylund]

Notably, Applied Optoelectronics (NASDAQ:AAOI) was held up as a likely takeover target before the ink had dried on the Oclaro/Lumentum deal, but the stock started to fall a couple of weeks later as no such bids materialized. Applied Optoelectronics shares fell 10.3% lower in March, but the damage was repaired in early April when analyst firm Rosenblatt said that the company’s largest data center customers are ramping up their computing infrastructures very quickly at the moment.

  • [By Dan Caplinger]

The stock market mounted a last-minute rally to keep its string of winning days alive, as all three major market benchmarks recovered from losses during most of the day to close higher. The performance again showed the complete confidence that investors seem to have in the market’s longer-term future, despite the fact that some believe that stocks have generally risen too quickly and have been hoping for a pullback. Enough investors seem to be waiting for an opportunity to buy that losses have generally been muted and short-lived. Moreover, some good news sent many individual stocks higher, and Nordstrom (NYSE:JWN), RH (NYSE:RH), and Applied Optoelectronics (NASDAQ:AAOI) were among the top performers on the day. Below, we’ll look more closely at these stocks to tell you why they did so well.

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Igor Novgorodtsev]

InterActiveCorp (IACI) bought Ask.com for $1.85 billion in 2005. The new Perion will be worth only about 40% of that. After the merger, Perion will leapfrog its much larger rivals: Babylon and AVG (AVG). Finally, Perion should be able to increase its operating margins as it can spread its SG&A costs over a much larger base (Conduit EBITDA margin is 32% vs. Perion’s 23%). Perion will keep its senior management team intact: Josef Mandelbaum will remain its CEO and Yacov Kaufman its CFO. Perion has successfully orchestrated a roll-up acquisitions of privately-held Sweetpacks and Smilebox, so I have high confidence that they know how to integrate a new business.

The Top Stock Market Stories for Tuesday

Donald Trump

President Trump will announce today if he will pull the United States out of the Obama-era nuclear deal. Trump wants European members of the treaty to amend certain issues regarding Iran’s uranium enrichment capacity. Energy stocks and oil prices had been rising on speculation that Trump would slap Iran again with economic sanctions, disrupting the region’s oil production. Comcast Corp.(Nasdaq: CMCSA) is currently working to obtain enough capital to purchase certain assets of Twenty-First Century Fox Inc.(NYSE: FOXA). The ability to raise capital would allow Comcast to replace Disney’s $52 billion bid for the many of Fox’s key businesses. Markets are reacting to a speech made this morning by U.S. Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell. During a speech in Zurich, Switzerland, Powell said that rising U.S. interest rates would not have a significant impact on emerging markets and foreign stock markets. This has long been a concern for other nations as the U.S. dollar rises and American bonds become more attractive to international investors.
Four Stocks to Watch Today: DIS, C, SNAP
The Walt DisneyCo.(NYSE: DIS) will lead another busy day of earnings reports today. Investors will be exploring the impact of recent price hikes at the company’s theme parks, as well as the ongoing concerns about cable cutting and how this trend affects ESPN. Markets anticipate that the company will report earnings per share of $1.68 on top of $14.23 billion in revenue. Shares of Citigroup Inc. (NYSE: C) are on the move. The uptick came after activist investor ValueAct announced a $1.2 billion stake in the investment bank. Citigroup shares were up 1.2% in pre-market hours. Shares of Snap Inc. (NYSE: SNAP) gained 1% in pre-market hours. The owner of social media giant Snapchat said that its CFO Drew Vollero will step down next week. The executive will be replaced by a financial executive at Amazon.com Inc. (Nasdaq: AMZN). Snap continues to face incredible pressures after the firm fell short of subscriber growth expectations when it reported earnings last week. Look for additional earnings reports from Electronic Arts Inc. (Nasdaq: EA), TripAdvisor Inc.(Nasdaq: TRIP), Valeant Pharmaceuticals International Inc.(NYSE: VRX), Monster Beverage Corp. (Nasdaq: MNST), Marriott International Inc. (NYSE: MAR), Fossil Inc. (Nasdaq: FOSL), JD.com Inc. (Nasdaq: JD), Strum, Ruger & Co. (NYSE: RGR), and LendingClub Corp. (NYSE: LC).

TripAdvisor Inc. (NASDAQ: TRIP) dropped about 22% Tuesday to post a new 52-week low of $30.80 after closing at $39.53 on Monday. The 52-week high is $65.56. Volume was around 24 million, eight times the daily average of around 3 million. The company reported weak revenues Monday and it and two of its competitors are getting hammered today.

  • [By Demitrios Kalogeropoulos]

There are many reasons an investor might be attracted to TripAdvisor (NASDAQ:TRIP) stock. It boasts an enviable position in the online hotel booking space, after all, and the travel specialist is cultivating new business lines that might soon become significant revenue streams in their own rights.

  • [By Chris Lange]

The S&P 500 stock posting the largest daily percentage loss ahead of the close Wednesday was TripAdvisor, Inc. (NASDAQ: TRIP) which traded down about 8% at $38.47. The stocks 52-week range is $29.50 to $50.95. Volume was 3.3 million compared to the daily average volume of 2.8 million.

    TripAdvisordropped 11% to $46.92 today, while the S&P 500 dipped 0.1% to2,347.22.

Susquehanna’s Shyam Patil and team write that TripAdvisor’s “challenges persist.” They explain why:

4Q highlights another challenging quarter. Total revenue was $316m (up 2% y/y), 1% below our estimate of $320m and 3% below consensus of $327m. EBITDA of $58m (18.4% margins) was ~25% below our and the consensus estimate of $77m, caused by the revenue miss and higher opex (specifically S&M and G&A) vs. our model…

While we like TRIPs leading audience reach (on both mobile and desktop) and breadth of travel content, we believe the traffic mix shift to mobile combined with the transition to instant book (IB) will continue to weigh on monetization and cause near-term volatility in the numbers. TRIP is prioritizing revenue growth over profits this year, and management expects to drive double-digit revenue growth but at the expense of significant margin deleverage and absolute EBITDA declines. Additionally, EBITDA could decline further, if TRIP decides to do TV advertising, which is currently not in our estimates or managements outlook. Given these issues, forecasting remains challenging and we continue to have little confidence in estimates.

TripAdvisor’s market capitalization fell to $6.8 billion today from $7.6 billion yesterday.

Diamond Stocks Aren't Forever — Your Shot At An Easy 35.8% Gain

Any man who’s gone through it will tell you that a lot of work, money and stress go into buying a diamond. I mean, behind your house and your car, this little rock is one of the most expensive purchases in life. Retailers are fighting for your business, and competition among jewelers is beyond fierce — and given the potential profits involved, it has to be.

—Sponsored Link—
The Most Powerful Investment Of The Next 10 Years
It may be one of the most speculative sectors on the market. But it’s also one of the most explosive. Given the demand we’re seeing from 80 million retiring baby boomers, waves of new innovation, mergers and acquisitions, biotech is one of the best ways to park your cash.
We’ve already been rewarded when:
— ACADIA Pharmaceuticals (ACAD) returned 4,851% and 4,093%
— Amicus Therapeutics (FOLD) retuned 626%
— Celator Pharmaceuticals (CPXX) returned 1,635%
— CymaBay Therapeutics (CBAY) returned 862%
— Fate Therapeutics (FATE) returned 601%
— Dynavax Technologies (DVAX) returned 2,036%
But which ones are poised to do the same? Discover the five biotech wealth-building stocks that could triple your returns. Details in your FREE report — Download it here right now.

According to the Houston Chronicle, diamonds can be easily marked up 100% or more by brick-and-mortar jewelers like Tiffany and Cartier. And gone are the days of walking to your local jeweler — the guy your parents went to when you were growing up. If you’re not one of society’s elite, chances are you’re headed to a jewelry chain or looking online.

Online diamond retailers like Blue Nile, which may mark up a diamond only 18% or so, have made deep cuts into everyone else’s profit margins. From eBay to Amazon, e-tailers are hitting the diamond game hard. The industry is being diluted further by the rise of niche, handcrafted jewelry available for sale on sites like Etsy, which only further threatens the profits of traditional jewelry retailers.

It’s this rising trend of online, direct jewelers — along with tighter wallets in general — that could spell more pain for diamond and jewelry giant Signet (NYSE: SIG), a company already experiencing problems.

Diamonds Aren’t This Stock’s Best Friend
If you’re not familiar, Signet Jewelers is the world’s largest retailer of diamond jewelry and the largest specialty jewelry retailer in the United States, the U.K. and Canada. Under brands like Jared, Kay Jewelers, Zales and others, the company operates 3,500 stores that dominate North America and the U.K.

The company caters to the middle class (as it’s lacking the cache of higher-end brands), with many locations in and around malls or suburban shopping centers.

But as you may know, home prices have been skyrocketing… interest rates are increasing… fuel prices are rising… and consumer debt is jumping. And since most middle-class folks just want the best diamond at the cheapest price, the internet may be the place they go to shop.

As broad consumer costs build exponentially, the above factors are squeezing our wallets and purses. This leaves less room for excess, i.e., big, expensive diamonds and jewelry — the kind that used to mean fat margins for Signet.

Signet also derives $0 in revenue from Asia, the region where the jewelry market share is growing the most.

Shares have nearly reached analysts’ forward target of $38.44, and with only two of 14 analysts listing the stock as a “buy.” I think shares have gotten ahead of themselves in this last rally.

As problems persist and revenues continue to decline, Signet’s shares are likely to start moving in that same direction.

SIG cemented a new 52-week low of $33.11 on April 3. I think the stock could retest that low, falling to just above that level at $34.

Now, some investors may be satisfied with shorting the stock. That’s fine. If SIG drops 12.5% to hit that level, then it’ll be a good trade. But my Profit Amplifier subscribers and I could see a potential 35.8% gain by July if the stock falls to this level by using call options. That’s 131% annualized.

Sounds crazy right? It isn’t — Wall Street uses the same strategy every day. If this still sounds risky to you, maybe because you’re new to options trading, know that this trade breaks even if SIG hits $36.90. That’s just about 5% below recent prices, a move I think we’ll see sooner rather than later given the faltering market and the accelerating rise of online diamond sales.

How You Can Get In On This Trade
It wouldn’t be fair to my premium Profit Amplifier subscribers to reveal the specifics of this options trade in this article. But my proven strategy could be just what you need to make more on your trades than you thought possible.

While the rest of the crowd is simply buying stocks and hoping for the best, my subscribers and I have spent years “raiding” the market with our simple options trades, taking more than our fair share of gains.

I’m talking about returns of 31%, 35%, and more — all in a matter of weeks rather than months or years. In fact, we just closed a trade on TripAdvisor (Nasdaq: TRIP) for a clean 26.3% in just 10 days.

Bottom line, my stock market raiding technique is the best way to increase your returns while preserving capital and reducing risk. Of course, that’s only if it’s done correctly.

That’s why I created a special report that will walk you through the steps I take when going on market raids, which should help you avoid the costly mistakes many new traders experience. If you’d like to make trades like the one I described today — or even potentially make 80% when a stock only moves 8% — go here.

Top 10 Stocks To Watch For 2019

If you’ve overestimated the daily demand for chia seed and homemade granola pots, or dripping, do you just throw the food out, or try and sell it quickly on the cheap?

Fifty eateries in London, including Aubaine, Hummus Bros, The Quality Chop House, and Michelin-starred Aquavit, can now opt for the latter through a mobile app, Karma, which launched in the city Thursday after an initial rollout across 35 cities in Sweden.

“The problem of food waste is very big here, so it’s a huge market for us,” said Karma co-founder Elsa Bernadotte. “London has an established food culture, a high degree of digitization, and is getting increasingly environmentally conscious.”

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations estimates that about a third of food produced for human consumption — about 1.3 billion tonnes globally — is lost or wasted each year. One study estimates British restaurants, bars and hotels to waste about 600,000 tonnes a year, worth about 17 billion pounds ($23.9 billion), with restaurants accounting for the largest single share.

Top 10 Stocks To Watch For 2019: NO Name(ACI)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Robert Weinstein]

Lawsuit after lawsuit, a billion dollars in cost overruns, taxpayer subsidies and the most expensive coal plant to operate causing electric rates to skyrocket, if this becomes the norm. The new project is called Plant Ratcliffe by Southern Co.
Plant Ratcliffe is quite the boondoggle, but proponents say it always costs more to build the first one and costs will come down as the technology improves. More plants are in the planning stages and may bring a needed shot in the arm to mining stocks.
Alpha Natural Resources (ANR), Walter Energy (WLT), Arch Coal (ACI), Cliffs Natural Resources (CLF), Peabody Energy (BTU), and James River Coal (JRCC) are companies that may benefit from increased demand for coal.
Not all coal or coal companies are equal, so it’s crucial to discriminate based on your investment time-horizon goals. With that said, the announcement should have been followed by a deep sell-off in coal and utility related stocks. But something happened.
    Or, rather, didn’t happen.
The above coal stocks didn’t sell off tremendously and are largely moving along with the rest of the market today. This is noteworthy because stocks don’t bottom on good news, they reach a bottom on awful news. Let me explain: When a stock chart continues trending lower, what you’re witnessing is investors throwing in the towel and moving on.
Leaving aside bankruptcies for a moment, almost all stocks have a core group of investors that are commonly known as the “strong hands.” A stock is at the bottom when the weak hands are gone. At some point, distressing news (like an unfavorable EPA announcement regarding coal) hits the wire and the related stock or stocks react with little or no movement. This is what we are witnessing right now in coal-related companies.

With a dividend payout ratio of 44% and dividend yield of 2%, we consider Accenture our favorite income oriented security, recognizing valuation is near peak multiples. Fundamentally, we believe its mix of business should result in above-average revenue growth, and mix allows for modest margin expansion (rare in IT Services), that should result in steady and attractive double-digit total returns to shareholders.

Investors have apparently begun to recognize positive factors similar to those we have mentioned in this report, including earnings growth. This has helped drive up the company’s shares by a sharp 28.50% over the past year, a rise that has exceeded that of the S&P 500 Index. Regarding the stock’s future course, although almost any stock can fall in a broad market decline, ACN should continue to move higher despite the fact that it has already enjoyed a very nice gain in the past year.

Looking at recent historical deals, we arrive at a $18-$23 potential deal range. We analyzed transactions that have been announced over the past four years and involved companies catering to a higher income customer. These deals include Southern Tide (acquired by Oxford Industries (OXM)), Joe’s Jeans (acquired by Sequential Brands Group (SQBG)), prAna (acquired by Columbia Sportswear (COLM)), The Jones Group (acquired by Sycamore Partners [private] and Juicy Couture (acquired by Authentic Brands Group [private]). The average EV/EBITDA multiple of these transactions are 12.9x (in line with KATE’s 5-year historical average of 12.1x) and implies a potential deal range of $22-$23. When taking the average of recent (F13-16) deals implies an ~10.5x EV/EBITDA multiple. When applying the ~10.5x multiples to KATE’s trailing EBITDA, we arrive at an $18- $19 potential share price.

Shares of Kate Spade have gained 1.1% to $18.70 at 2:08 p.m. today, while Coach has declined 0.2% to $34.95, Michael Kors is little changed at $42.86, Oxford Industries has fallen 0.7% to $60.38, Columbia Sportswear has climbed 1.4% to $58.60, and Sequential Brands Group has jumped 3.7% to $4.77.
