Top 5 Medical Stocks For 2021

Summit Therapeutics PLC (NASDAQ: SMMT) shares made a solid gain early on Thursday after the firm announced that it was awarded an additional $12 million under its contract with the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA), a division of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Keep in mind that this is a sizable chunk of change for Summit, as the stock closed Wednesday with a market cap of $35 million.

Ultimately, these funds will support the Phase 3 development program for ridinilazole, the companys precision new mechanism antibiotic for the treatment of C. difficile infection (CDI).

For some quick background: CDI is caused by an infection of the colon by the bacterium C. difficile, which produces toxins that cause inflammation and severe diarrhea, and in the most serious cases can be fatal.

This award represents the first of three optional awards to be exercised under the BARDA contract. It brings the total committed BARDA funding to $44 million, which includes the base package of $32 million announced in September 2017. If BARDA exercises its remaining options in full, the total funding under the contract would increase to $62 million.

Rooftop solar energy could get a stylish makeover if Tesla gets its way.

The Palo Alto, Calif.-based tech company, known for its luxury electric cars, will begin selling roof tiles that convert solar energy into electricity in April, CEO Elon Musk says.

The product, which Tesla will offer through its SolarCity division, will be a no-brainer for homeowners, Musk has said.

“The base of the proposition would be, would you like a roof that looks better than the normal roof, lasts twice as long, costs less, and by the way, generates electricity?” Musk told investors in November. “It’s like why would you get anything else? Maybe there’s a reason. I’m not sure why.”

While the idea has been talked about for a long time in the solar community, no one has been able to make it work on a large scale at an affordable price. Questions remain about the efficiency of using tiles instead of panels, and about the cost. But there’s no question that it would improve the look of homes compared to rooftop panels.

Top 10 Energy Stocks To Buy For 2019: Sunoco LP(SUN)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Tyler Crowe]

Trying to put a finger on the pulse of fuel distributor Sunoco LP (NYSE:SUN) hasn’t been easy lately as the company has been reworking much of its corporate structure for the past year or so. Between asset sales, share repurchases, and debt elimination, too many balls were up in the air to make a definitive decision about its stock.

  • [By Matthew DiLallo]

Like the other segments of the oil industry, investors have several options to choose from in the downstream sector, which typically makes more money when oil prices are low because they need to buy oil, which they then refine into higher-value products like gasoline. A company like Phillips 66 operates refineries, petrochemical plants, as well as marketing and distribution businesses. Meanwhile, other companies focus solely on one area of the downstream segment. For example, PBF Energy (NYSE:PBF) mainly operates refineries, Westlake Chemical (NYSE:WLK) primarily owns petrochemical plants, while Sunoco LP (NYSE:SUN) distributes refined products to places like gas stations.

  • [By Matthew DiLallo]

Three high-yield dividend stocks that seem to be in danger of a dividend reduction are Summit Midstream Partners (NYSE:SMLP), Enbridge Energy Partners (NYSE:EEP), and Sunoco LP (NYSE:SUN). Investors are better off steering clear of this trio and considering safer options instead.

  • [By Matthew DiLallo]

The only segment where earnings declined was the catch-all one labeled “all other,” which houses different investments such as its stake in Sunoco L.P. (NYSE:SUN) and PES, a refining joint venture. PES has struggled due to higher costs, and recently declared bankruptcy. Meanwhile, Energy Transfer’s earnings from Sunoco L.P. declined because that entity sold the bulk of its retail assets and then used that cash to repurchase a portion of Energy Transfer’s investment.

  • [By Reuben Gregg Brewer]

There was a similar trend for smaller midstream player Phillips 66 Partners LP (NYSE:PSXP). It was down 19% in 2018 and rose 16% in January. But the trend didn’t hold for Sunoco LP (NYSE:SUN), which distributes gasoline. This limited partnership was off by 4% in 2018, two percentage points less than the broader market, and up 12% in January. Cheniere Energy Partners LP (NYSEMKT:CQP) and Cheniere Energy Inc. (NYSEMKT:LNG) were even further from the pack, up 12% and 11%, respectively, in January after posting gains of 21% and roughly 10%, respectively, in 2018.

Top 10 Energy Stocks To Buy For 2019: Devon Energy Corporation(DVN)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Matthew DiLallo]

As things stand right now, analysts anticipate that at least some Iranian oil will come off the market as a result of the sanctions. That lost output would further tighten an oil market that suddenly has little margin for error thanks to red-hot demand and tame supply growth. That’s the recipe for higher oil prices and could make top-tier U.S. oil stocks Anadarko Petroleum (NYSE:APC), Devon Energy (NYSE:DVN), and ConocoPhillips (NYSE:COP) big winners in the coming years.

  • [By Jon C. Ogg]

Devon Energy Corp. (NYSE: DVN) is also a Buy, with a $47 price objective, and with its multiples based on a finite timeline to delivery that is also supported by its core NAV. Shares of Devon Energy were down 0.4% at $29.52.

  • [By Matthew DiLallo]

Devon Energy (NYSE:DVN) was one of those. While that company’s CEO did note on Devon’s quarterly conference call that capital expenditures would trend toward the high end of its guidance range, that’s because Devon was “completing our plan 2018 program quicker than anticipated.” As a result, the company would “most likely accelerate some 2019 program into 2018,” even as it stays within its initial budget guidelines. Doing so will enable Devon to grow faster while still generating excess cash at current oil prices, which it’s returning to shareholders through a $1 billion stock buyback and 33% dividend increase.

Kinder Morgan’s (NYSE:KMI) Trans Mountain pipeline has been long beleaguered by civilian and municipal government opposition. But last week, the Canadian government stepped in to ensure the pipeline would get made, and offered Kinder Morgan’s subsidiary a tidy $3.5 billion to take the project off their hands.

In this episode of Industry Focus: Energy, host Sarah Priestley and analyst Taylor Muckerman talk about what the deal will mean for Kinder Morgan and the Canadian government. Find out what Kinder Morgan might do with this cash, who the Canadian government might eventually sell these assets to, and more. Also, the two touch on recent developments in OPEC: the effects of the production cuts, President Trump’s divisive plea for increased production, and the all-too-quickly forgotten cyclicality of the oil industry.

Top 5 Energy Stocks To Buy For 2019

Chesapeake Energy (NYSE:CHK) is a modern-day case study of how to survive overwhelming odds of bankruptcy. Not just that, but the company, throughout 2016, became far more financially stable than any of us could have thought at the beginning of the year. With a fresh year now on the table, there’s 252 trading days ahead of us and a lot of speculation as to how CHK will perform. The focus must remain on reducing leverage, boosting production to increase cash flow, and securing long-term, high-graded growth opportunities. Should Chesapeake be able to do all of those things this year, the stock will certainly outperform.

Top 5 Energy Stocks To Buy For 2019: CVR Refining, LP(CVRR)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Dan Caplinger]

Finally, shares of CVR Energy fell 9%. The holding company agreed to exchange its stock to investors in related entity CVR Refining (NYSE:CVRR), accepting as many as 37.1 million units at a ratio of 0.6335 shares of CVR Energy for every unit of CVR Refining exchanged. In a release, CVR Energy said that “many CVR Refining unitholders may wish to hold their investment in the form of common stock rather than partnership interests” after recent tax reform legislation. But it’s unclear why CVR Energy would make an offer at a 25% premium rather than simply having CVR Refining convert to a corporate entity or use similar steps that wouldn’t adversely affect CVR Energy shareholders for the benefit of CVR Refining unitholders. CVR Refining finished the session 8% higher.

Top 5 Energy Stocks To Buy For 2019: Chevron Corporation(CVX)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Lee Jackson]

This integrated giant is a safer way for investors looking to stay or get long the energy sector, and it has a big Permian Basin exposure. Chevron Corp. (NYSE: CVX) is a U.S.-based integrated oil and gas company with worldwide operations in exploration and production, refining and marketing, transportation and petrochemicals.

  • [By Jon C. Ogg]

The move is consistent with what had been seen by Chevron Corporation (NYSE: CVX) earlier in 2018. On February 2, 2018, Chevron reported earnings and included a note regarding a 4-cent dividend hike. Chevron even noted that the hike puts the company on track to make 2018 the 31st consecutive year with an increase in annual dividend payout. The company’s $0.04 per share increase in the quarterly dividend took the new payout to $1.12 per share that would be payable in March 2018.

Exxon Mobil (NYSE: XOM) hauled in $6.4 billion in adjusted net income in the fourth quarter. BP (NYSE: BP) shattered expectations with a profit of $3.5 billion. Royal Dutch Shell (NYSE: RDS-A) banked earnings of $5.7 billion. That’s $15.6 billion from just three companies — in a single quarter. For the year, the combined earnings of the five super-majors — this trio plus Chevron (NYSE: CVX) and Total (NYSE: TOT) — reached an incredible $80 billion.

  • [By Chris Lange]

Chevron Corp. (NYSE: CVX) saw its short interest decrease to 16.71 million shares from the previous reading of 17.19 million. The shares were last seen trading at $115.29, in a 52-week range of $108.02 to $133.88.

Action To Take: Going forward, huge, integrated oil companies like Chevron (NYSE: CVX) and ExxonMobil (NYSE: XOM) will need to figure out how to evolve in an environment where the price of their primary product remains flat, perhaps for decades. This will translate into flat profits and, perhaps, skinnier dividends. Currently, both stocks trade at 20-plus forward price-to-earnings ratios (PEs), much higher than their attractive historical norms. While the market has bid up these stocks, the higher multiples indicate lower-than-anticipated earnings per share (EPS).

  • [By Chris Lange]

Chevron Corp. (NYSE: CVX) reported its most recent quarterly results before the markets opened on Friday. It posted $2.06 in earnings per share (EPS) and $42.35 billion in revenue, which compares with consensus estimates of $1.87 in EPS and revenue of $46.13 billion. In the same period of last year, the oil giant said it had EPS of $0.72 on $37.62 billion in revenue.

Top 10 Energy Stocks To Own Right Now: Enbridge Inc(ENB)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Matthew DiLallo]

Shares of Enbridge (NYSE:ENB) came roaring back in January. After tumbling 20% in 2018 due in part to a late sell-off in the oil market, shares of the Canadian oil pipeline giant rebounded 17.8% last month, according to data provided by S&P Global Market Intelligence. Driving that rally was a bounce back in the oil market as well as some bullish notes by analysts who follow the company.

  • [By Matthew DiLallo]

Pembina Pipeline Corp. (NYSE:PBA) isn’t a name that most investors are probably familiar with since it’s a Canadian company. Not only that, but it’s much smaller than its more well-known national rivals Enbridge (NYSE:ENB) and TransCanada (NYSE:TRP), which have made their share of headlines in the U.S. due to some controversial pipeline projects.

  • [By Matthew DiLallo]

While hiring a bank to lead the sales process doesn’t mean Kinder Morgan will find buyers willing to pay its asking price, the report suggested that “interest in the assets would be robust, and bids are likely to come from both midstream companies, private equity firms, and infrastructure funds.” Recent M&A activity in the country backs up that view. For example, in April, Canadian energy infrastructure giant Enbridge (NYSE:ENB) hired advisors to explore the sale of some of its natural gas gathering and processing assets in the western part of the country. That initial report said that Enbridge hoped to sell at least a portion of that business for more than CA$2 billion ($1.5 billion). By July, Enbridge agreed to a CA$4.3 billion ($3.3 billion) bid by an infrastructure fund-led consortium for its entire gas gathering and processing business in Western Canada. It was only one of several notable deals for midstream assets in recent years, in what has been a seller’s market.

  • [By Paul Ausick]

In addition to the Trans Mountain system, two other pipeline projects currently are proposed to move crude oil from Alberta either to the Great Lakes or the Gulf Coast. Enbridge Inc. (NYSE: ENB) is proposing to replace its 50-year old Line 3 system to transport 760,000 barrels a day to Superior, Wisconsin. TransCanada Corp. (NYSE: TRP) has received approval from the Trump administration and would transport 830,000 barrels a day to Nebraska where existing pipelines will take over, sending the crude to U.S. refineries and Gulf Coast terminals.

  • [By Matthew DiLallo]

In addition to that, Brookfield has agreed to buy Enbridge’s (NYSE:ENB) Western Canadian natural gas gathering and processing business. The company will invest about $540 million in the acquisition, giving it a stake in the largest operation of its kind in Canada, which has it strategically positioned for expansion. Meanwhile, Enbridge will use the cash to pay down debt and fund its large slate of expansion projects.

  • [By Matthew DiLallo]

Oil prices have improved dramatically over the past year as OPEC’s move to drain off the supply glut proved more successful than envisioned. That rising tide has lifted most oil stocks. However, that doesn’t mean investors have missed the boat, since many oil stocks still have ample upside. Two top ones where that’s the case are Devon Energy (NYSE:DVN) and Enbridge (NYSE:ENB).

Top 10 Energy Stocks To Own Right Now: Petroleo Brasileiro S.A.- Petrobras(PBR)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Dan Caplinger]

Tuesday continued to show a stock market divided, as major benchmarks that focus on large-cap stocks kept powering higher even as small-cap indexes lost more ground. The Dow Jones Industrial Average posted triple-digit gains to finish at a record, but weakness from the technology sector weighed on the Nasdaq Composite. Investors seem to believe that the resolution of some key trade disputes favors large multinationals over small domestic companies, and some foreign stocks also had good showings. Petroleo Brasileiro (NYSE:PBR), Lamb Weston Holdings (NYSE:LW), and IAMGOLD (NYSE:IAG) were among the best performers on the day. Here’s why they did so well.

  • [By Chris Lange]

Short interest at Petroleo Brasileiro S.A. (NYSE: PBR), or Petrobras, decreased to 42.60 million shares from the previous 43.43 million. The stock traded at $10.52 a share, in a 52-week range of $9.02 to $17.20. Unfortunately, Petrobras may be trading on an entirely different set of fundamentals and sentiment due to its ongoing woes in Brazil.

  • [By Dan Caplinger]

Stocks fell on Thursday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average finishing modestly lower but with other major benchmarks closing nearly unchanged. Investors largely recovered from an early decline following the White House decision to cancel its scheduled meeting next month with Kim Jong Un of North Korea, instead focusing mostly on economic fundamentals that remain favorable throughout much of the world. Some individual companies, however, had to deal with adversity that sent their shares lower. Petroleo Brasileiro (NYSE:PBR), Whirlpool (NYSE:WHR), and Luxoft Holding (NYSE:LXFT) were among the worst performers on the day. Here’s why they did so poorly.

Brown-Forman (NYSE:BF-B), Acorda Therapeutics (NASDAQ:ACOR), and Energy XXI Gulf Coast (NASDAQ:EXXI) were among the worst performers on the day. Below, we’ll look more closely at these stocks to tell you why they did so poorly.

Best Energy Stocks To Own For 2019

Here’s something worth remembering: Forgetfulness is a normal part of getting older. So-called senior moments—such as having trouble recalling an acquaintance’s name at a party, misplacing your keys and other small lapses—aren’t necessarily cause for concern. Some people start to recognize changes to their memory as early as their mid-50s. More will notice a change in their 60s. By the time they’re in their 70s, four out of five people report that their memory isn’t as sharp as it was previously, according to the Mayo Clinic’s Study of Aging. Your genes play a role in determining how long you’ll be as sharp as a tack, but adopting a variety of healthy habits can also help you stave off those senior moments.

As you age, physical changes in the brain often affect your memory. The prefrontal cortex and the hippocampus, which both play important roles in learning, memory and planning, shrink in size. The connections that allow brain cells to communicate with one another become weaker, and arteries narrow, reducing blood flow. As a result, you may find that you don’t recall information as quickly or as easily as you once did, that it takes longer to learn new things, or that you forget pieces of information and misplace objects more frequently. You’ll likely also find that you have more difficulty multitasking and that you need to put more effort into concentrating on each task. “These changes don’t mean that the memory machine is broken,” says Dr. Ronald Petersen, director of the Mayo Clinic’s Study of Aging. “But you may have to start putting more emphasis and energy into the process of laying down new memories.”

Hot Energy Stocks To Buy For 2018: Ballard Power Systems, Inc.(BLDP)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Maxx Chatsko]

That much becomes clear after taking a look at fuel cell stocks Plug Power (NASDAQ:PLUG) and Ballard Power Systems (NASDAQ:BLDP). The companies generated just $235 million in revenue combined last year. While that would seem to indicate that the technology has a ways to go, a closer look shows both companies are on an upward trajectory as they position to exploit decarbonization trends. It also reveals two different growth strategies.

Investors weren’t happy with the current state of geopolitical uncertainty, with trade disputes threatening to become larger problems than ever. Moreover, some companies had good news that sent their shares higher. Tiffany (NYSE:TIF), BP Prudhoe Bay Royalty Trust (NYSE:BPT), and Ralph Lauren (NYSE:RL) were among the best performers on the day. Here’s why they did so well.

U.S. crude topped $70 for the first since 2014, as U.S. President Donald Trump appeared increasingly likely to pull out of the Iran nuclear deal and reinforce sanctions on Tehran. In addition, OPEC has announced plans to bolster prices and cap production. For oil investors, Money MorningGlobal Energy Strategist Dr. Kent Moors says it’s time to buckle up. According to Moors, revoking the Iran deal would cause “price chaos” around the globe. And that’s right as driving season starts in the United States. Here’s more on the coming chaos for oil. (NYSE:OKE), Magellan Midstream Partners LP(NYSE:MMP), and Enterprise Products Partners L.P. (NYSE:EPD) have each increased their disbursements for more than a decade. However, there is a difference in the growth rates over time. Enterprise’s 10-year annualized distribution increase was 5.7%, Magellan’s was 10.9%, and ONEOK’s dividend rose at an annualized 16.1% clip. Just a few percentage points here makes a huge difference in the growth of the disbursement over time, as the chart below clearly shows.

Bronfman E.L. Rothschild L.P. increased its holdings in ONEOK (NYSE:OKE) by 86.1% in the 1st quarter, according to its most recent filing with the SEC. The institutional investor owned 14,456 shares of the utilities provider’s stock after buying an additional 6,690 shares during the quarter. Bronfman E.L. Rothschild L.P.’s holdings in ONEOK were worth $823,000 at the end of the most recent reporting period.

ONEOK (NYSE:OKE) – Analysts at US Capital Advisors raised their FY2018 EPS estimates for ONEOK in a research report issued to clients and investors on Monday, May 14th. US Capital Advisors analyst B. Followill now anticipates that the utilities provider will post earnings of $2.74 per share for the year, up from their previous forecast of $2.56. US Capital Advisors also issued estimates for ONEOK’s Q4 2018 earnings at $0.74 EPS and FY2019 earnings at $2.95 EPS.

Kinder Morgan, Inc. (NYSE:KMI) is one of the largest midstream companies in North America, and it has major dividend plans between 2018 and 2020. By the end of that period, it expects to increase its dividend from $0.50 per share per year (in 2017) to $1.25. That’s huge dividend growth in a short period of time. But don’t get too enamored by that news; the dividend will still be lower than it was before the midstream oil and gas company’s 75% dividend cut in 2016. If you’re looking for dividend income in the midstream space, take a look at longtime dividend payers ONEOK, Inc. (NYSE:OKE) and Magellan Midstream Partners, L.P. (NYSE:MMP) instead.

  • [By Max Byerly]

Prudential Financial Inc. boosted its stake in ONEOK (NYSE:OKE) by 1.0% during the 1st quarter, according to its most recent Form 13F filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The institutional investor owned 535,375 shares of the utilities provider’s stock after acquiring an additional 5,560 shares during the period. Prudential Financial Inc.’s holdings in ONEOK were worth $30,474,000 at the end of the most recent reporting period.

    2. Price To Sales
Another useful metric is the price-to-sales ratio (P/S). P/S measures a company’s market cap versus its annual revenue number. The idea is that the lower the number, the greater the implied value. For example, Snap, Inc. (Nasdaq: SNAP) trades at 26.9 times sales, an incredibly expensive number. However, aftermarket auto parts giant Genuine Parts (NYSE: GPC) trades at just 0.88 times sales — 88 cents to every dollar of sales the company brings in. Often, the lower the number, the more inefficiently the market has mispriced the stock.

  • [By ]

    Genuine Parts Co. (NYSE: GPC)
Ok, now I know I’ve definitely locked in the broken record award. GPC is better known to consumers as NAPA auto parts. And aftermarket auto parts is probably one of the most lucrative businesses in the United States for too many reasons to cover now.

Exposure levels are starting to creep into overbought territory. According to the National Associate of Active Investment Managers (NAAIM), the average manager is +94% net long the market. What is more dramatic is the fact that the lowest quartile of exposure (the bears) are +36% net long, which is the highest level since February of 2014. There has not been an event or a reason to force profit taking over the last month. Investors have been confident in buying individual stocks rather than making generic directional calls. Top 10 Undervalued Stocks To Watch Right Now

Value investors get a bad rap. Sometimes, value investing is referred to as “cigar butt” investing, in that picking up cheap, undervalued stocks is equivalent to picking up mostly smoked cigars off of the sidewalk. A good friend and colleague of mine used to call me a “dumpster diver”. Guilty.

Why value? Personally, I hate overpaying. The old Wall Street maxim “buy low, sell high” is in direct conflict with “buy high, sell higher”. Typically, value stocks are less volatile than growth stocks. That doesn’t mean they’re less risky.

I’m not going to argue the outperformance of growth versus value. Sometimes growth outperforms. Sometimes value outperforms. I’m also not going to get lost in the weeds of grandfather of value investing Benjamin Graham’s notion of intrinsic value and margin of safety.

What I will do is point out three key indicators that will get the ball rolling in evaluating a value stock.

1. Forward P/E
I’ve found that the most useful metric used in determining a stock’s value is the price-to-earnings ratio (P/E). A stock’s P/E ratio measures its price relative to the underlying business’s earnings per share (EPS). The trailing P/E measures past earnings while the forward P/E is calculated with projected earnings. The forward P/E is my go-to valuation metric. A low forward P/E is an indicator of the marketplace’s confidence in the ability of the company to deliver on the earnings forecast. The lower the number, the less confident the market is, and thus the cheaper the stock.

Top 10 Undervalued Stocks To Watch Right Now: Ultra Petroleum Corp.(UPL)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Ben Levisohn]

Our peer group is up an average of 46% over the past 4 weeks in response to a 30% rebound in the 12-month strip NYMEX oil price. Some of the largest gainers include Hold and Sell rated stocks that we would not chase such asDenbury Resources (Sell, +138%), Halcon Resources (HK) (Sell, +147%), Jones Energy (JONE) (Hold, +166%), Rex Energy (REXX) (Sell, +60%), Sanchez Energy (SN) (Hold, +93%), Ultra Petroleum (UPL) (Sell, +61%), andWhiting Petroleum (Hold, +103%), which have outperformed the E&P Index (+32%) over the same time period. Balance sheets and/or well level returns remain challenged for these companies despite improved oil prices. While we believe oil markets should re-balance over the next 12 to 15 months, the recent recovery to $40 could reverse during 2Q16 as bloated inventories continue to rise, new volumes from Iran pressure an oversupplied market, and a highly anticipated decline in non-OPEC supply (especially in the U.S.), is not as steep as expected. The risk of an oil price retracement, which would significantly pressure the recent out-performers, outweighs the upside in these stocks, in our view. However, we are raising our target prices on Buy ratedAnadarko Petroleum ($54 from $48), Concho Resources (CXO) ($120 from $109), Matador Resources (MTDR) ($22 from $21),Noble Energy (NBL) ($40 from $34), SM Energy (SM) ($22 from $15), Rice Energy ($14 from $12), Pioneer Natural Resources (PXD) ($155 from $135),Continental Resources ($32 from $28), and Parsley Energy (PE) ($24 from $23). We believe our Buy-rated stocks are better positioned to weather challenging oil markets.

  • [By STOCKPICKR]

As energy commodity prices have sold off in recent months, so too have the E&P stocks that pull those resources out of the ground. And Ultra Petroleum (UPL) has been no exception. The good news is that you don’t need to be an expert technical trader to figure out why this stock looks toxic here — the setup in shares of Ultra Petroleum is about as simple as they get.

UPL is bouncing its way lower in a textbook downtrending channel, a price setup that’s formed by a pair of parallel trendlines that have kept UPL range-bound since April. The price channel in UPL identifies the high-probability range for shares to stay within, and so, with shares pressing up against resistance for the eighth time since this price channel kicked off, it makes sense to be a seller on the next bounce lower.

On Monday, our Under the Radar Moversnewsletter suggested shorting women’s health stock Juniper Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: JNP):

Juniper Pharmaceuticals shares have yet to break under a key support level at $5.00. But, waiting until that happens may be too late. After some continued testing of that floor, if-and-when the support should break, the ensuing selloff could materialize in a hurry. Top Energy Stocks For 2018

CEFC China Energy Co. may cut half of its 30,000-strong workforce as the sprawling conglomerate faces increased financial pressures and scrutiny from Beijing, said an official at one of its units.

A deal to buy 14 percent of Rosneft PJSC, however, remains viable despite being impacted by the company’s recent troubles, Zhuang Jianzhong, vice director of CEFC’s international research unit, said Wednesday on the sidelines of an energy conference in Shanghai.

CEFC’s rapid rise peaked last year when it agreed to purchase a $9 billion stake in Rosneft, the culmination of Chairman Ye Jianming’s efforts to align his business with the overseas political and economic goals of President Xi Jinping. But things began to unravel this year as Ye, who has stepped down from management, came under investigation by Chinese authorities and financial troubles emerged.

  • [By JJ Kinahan]

Oil supermajors Chevron Corporation (NYSE: CVX) and Exxon Mobil Corporation (NYSE: XOM) report earnings before market open on Friday, Apr. 27. As crude oil prices have continued to climb in 2018, both stocks have gotten a couple of analyst upgrades in recent months.

  • [By ]

Top 10 Warren Buffett Stocks To Watch For 2019

BALTIMORE ( Stockpickr) — Which stocks should I buy? It’s the eternal question that most investors spend most of their time wondering. But is it the wrong question?

Must Read: Warren Buffett’s Top 10 Dividend Stocks

More so than any other year since 2008’s market crash, 2014 has been a year for stock pickers. That’s because, as the end of the calendar year creeps closer, one in three S&P 500 components is actually down since January. And considering the fact that the big index is up more than 10% year-to-date, those underperformers are missing the mark by a big margin. In a big way, knowing which stocks not to buy has almost been more important for your ability to book gains in 2014 than knowing which ones you should.

That’s why we’re taking a closer technical look at five “toxic stocks” to sell this week.

Just to be clear, the companies I’m talking about today aren’t exactly junk. By that, I mean they’re not next up in line at bankruptcy court. But that’s frankly irrelevant; from a technical analysis standpoint, sellers are shoving around these toxic stocks right now. For that reason, fundamental investors need to decide how long they’re willing to take the pain if they want to hold onto these firms in the weeks and months ahead. And for investors looking to buy one of these positions, it makes sense to wait for more favorable technical conditions (and a lower share price) before piling in.

The question now is more about speed of EV implementation. On the supply side, it has been great to see LAC, Pilbara Minerals (OTCPK:PILBF) and Altura Mining (OTCPK:ALTAF) get funding, but the continued issues with Albemarle’s (NYSE:ALB) LaNegra II expansion and Orocobre (OTCPK:OROCF) ramping up to Phase 1 capacity of 17,500 tonnes/year of lithium carbonate are further evidence that lithium projects take time and have considerable execution risk.

Best Blue Chip Stocks To Invest In 2019

Sometimes I discuss stocks which sit out of my comfort zone, simply because they have a few characteristics which could be of interest to any kind of investor but don’t necessarily fit my portfolio. For example a blue chip stock which has features of positive capital gains combined with interesting dividend. In this case I am talking about Accenture (NYSE:ACN). A little bit more than a year ago, I covered this enormous IT consultant on Seeking Alpha.

I concluded that the firm is sometimes made fun of in the internet for its reputation to no surprise, but has excellent financial figures and a solid backlog. I thought based on current figures it would see another positive year in 2016 and the firm did not disappoint:
