Oil prices have continued rebounding this year, with the U.S. benchmark price WTI up another 7% to around $65 per barrel. That improving oil price has helped drive up most oil stocks. I say most because Devon Energy (NYSE:DVN), Apache (NYSE:APA), and Newfield Exploration (NYSE:NFX) are flat to down so far this year because investors seem to have overlooked them entirely. Because of that, they trade for a dirt-cheap valuation versus their peers, making them intriguing options to consider.

The fourth quarter was brutal for the oil industry, as oil prices crashed 40% from their peak in early October. While that slump in the oil market had an impact on land-based drilling activities, it didn’t spill over into the offshore segment, because those projects have much longer lead times. That meant Oceaneering International’s (NYSE:OII) fourth-quarter results were able to improve both year over year and sequentially. The company anticipates that contract wins throughout 2018 will drive its results higher in 2019.

Top 10 Energy Stocks To Buy For 2019: ENI S.p.A.(E)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Shane Hupp]

ENI (NYSE:E) was downgraded by analysts at Zacks Investment Research from a hold rating to a sell rating. According to Zacks, “With recovering oil prices, Eni’s operating profits from its Refining & Marketing business has gone down in the first half of 2018 against the comparable period of 2017. Also, operating profit from its Chemical business fell 79% during this period due to rising costs of oil-based feedstock. Moreover, Eni has sold 50% of its stake in the Zohr field, a high yielding project, which can impact its revenues. Fall in demand for products like gasoil and gasoline, in Italy, is also a concern for the company. If this consumption trend persists, the company’s profit levels will get affected. Given these headwinds, Eni seems like a risky bet that ordinary investors should exit.”

The country raised about $100 billion from the auctions by the end of January. With nine oil and gas blocks, Shell has emerged as the leading player in the auctions held so far. The energy sector has been good to dividend investors over the years as companies operating in the industry tend to generate lots of cash, which allows them to pay lucrative and growing dividends. While the sector offers income-seekers a variety of opportunities, three top options to consider are ExxonMobil (NYSE:XOM), MPLX (NYSE:MPLX), and Phillips 66 (NYSE:PSX). Not only do all three currently offer above-average payouts, but they have the financial strength and visible growth prospects to continue increasing their dividends in the coming years.

It was looking like, for the first time in a while, we were going to be able to look at MPLX’s (NYSE:MPLX) most recent earnings report without having to consider some big transaction down the road that would fundamentally change these numbers and render them useless. Then, just a couple days before earnings were released, MPLX’s parent company, Marathon Petroleum (NYSE:MPC), announced a huge acquisition that could have a profound impact on MPLX down the road.

America’s oil renaissance is powered almost exclusively by technology, as companies like Schlumberger (SLB) and Core Labs (CLB) are breathing new life into once forgotten wells. Nucor (NUE) has a similar leadership position in the steel industry thanks to technology, and that company will only benefit more that President Trump’s tariffs put the market on a more level playing field.

Top 10 Energy Stocks To Buy Right Now: Ballard Power Systems, Inc.(BLDP)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Maxx Chatsko]

That much becomes clear after taking a look at fuel cell stocks Plug Power (NASDAQ:PLUG) and Ballard Power Systems (NASDAQ:BLDP). The companies generated just $235 million in revenue combined last year. While that would seem to indicate that the technology has a ways to go, a closer look shows both companies are on an upward trajectory as they position to exploit decarbonization trends. It also reveals two different growth strategies.

  • [By Dan Caplinger]

The stock market came out of Labor Day weekend on a sluggish note, but it recovered ground by the end of the session to finish close to where it had started. Lingering doubts about the status of trade discussions with key trading partners initially caused major benchmarks to fall around half a percent in the morning. Once again, though, stocks proved their resiliency, and investors seemed more comfortable with the idea that corporate earnings would remain strong at least through the end of the year. Moreover, some strong showings from key stocks helped lift sentiment. Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ:AMD), Ballard Power Systems (NASDAQ:BLDP), and El Pollo Loco Holdings (NASDAQ:LOCO) were among the best performers on the day. Here’s why they did so well.

  • [By Maxx Chatsko]

That may not be surprising to investors considering the massive Chinese market has lifted diverse sectors and industries in the last two decades, but China may prove critical to the success of struggling fuel cell stocks. Can Ballard Power Systems (NASDAQ:BLDP) and Plug Power (NASDAQ:PLUG) capitalize on the opportunity in the East?

Top 10 Energy Stocks To Buy Right Now: Phillips 66 Partners LP(PSXP)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Dustin Parrett]

Phillips 66 Partners (NYSE: PSXP) just entered the Money Morning VQScore™ “Buy Zone,” making it one of the best stocks to buy right now.

And the timing couldn’t be better…

  • [By Matthew DiLallo]

However, the big capacity boost will come toward the end of next year, when as many as three large-scale pipelines could enter service. Plains All American Pipeline’s Cactus II should begin partial service by the third quarter of next year before starting full service of 670,000 BPD by April of 2020. Meanwhile, Phillips 66 Partners (NYSE:PSXP) and Andeavor (NYSE:ANDV) are building the Grey Oak Pipeline, which could move as much as 800,000 BPD to the Gulf Coast. Phillips 66 Partners and Andeavor plan to spend $2 billion to build the pipeline, which should start up by the end of 2019. That line would not only bring oil to refineries in the region but also to a new export dock under construction by Phillips 66 Partners, Andeavor, and another partner. Finally, the private equity–backed EPIC crude pipeline is also expected to start construction by the end of this year, which would put it in service by the second half of 2019.

  • [By Matthew DiLallo]

Currently, three major oil pipelines are on pace to start service in late 2019. They include Plains All American Pipeline’s (NYSE:PAA) 670,000-BPD Cactus II, the up-to-1-million-BPD Grey Oak Pipeline by Phillips 66 Partners (NYSE:PSXP) and Andeavor (NYSE:ANDV), and the private equity–backed EPIC pipeline that could move up to 675,000 BPD. Add it up, and that’s more than 2 million BPD of pipeline capacity. Meanwhile, Energy Transfer and Magellan Midstream are expanding several existing lines, which could add another 400,000 BPD next year. On top of that, Plains All American Pipeline is working with oil giant ExxonMobil (NYSE:XOM) on a 1 million-BPD oil pipeline as well as expanding several other smaller pipelines as fast as it can.

  • [By Matthew DiLallo]

The Sweeny Hub expansion is a “key part of our midstream growth strategy,” said Garland, as it “further optimizes our integrated NGL value chain.” That chain starts with a link to fast-growing production basins to the West via pipelines co-owned by DCP Midstream and the company’s other MLP, Phillips 66 Partners (NYSE:PSXP). Last month, those companies announced that they would connect their Southern Hills NGL pipeline to the DJ Basin, which would bring more NGL volumes toward Phillips 66’s Sweeny Hub. Meanwhile, the companies are also expanding their Sand Hills NGL Pipeline to move volumes from the Permian Basin toward Sweeny.

I’ve written previously about my belief that shrinking oil inventories and rising crude oil prices will spark a recovery in energy services stocks, and I’ve already explained why Core Labs and Hess Corp are favorite stocks of mine to buy. Now, after reviewing Oceaneering International’s (NYSE:OII) first-quarter results, I’m increasingly convinced that it’s a great time to add this stock to any portfolio.

2018 is turning out to be an excellent year for oil stocks. Since the start of 2018, the two most commonly quoted oil benchmark prices — Brent and WTI — are up 17% and 13%, respectively, and they are taking the prospects of many oil stocks with them. Three companies that stand out as rather impressive performers so far this year are independent oil producer Marathon Oil (NYSE:MRO) and oil services companies Oceaneering International (NYSE:OII) and Noble Corporation (NYSE:NE). All three stocks are up more than 30% year to date, which I’m sure comes as a welcome sight after the past few years.

The stock market had a tumultuous session on Wednesday, as major benchmarks started the day weak but bounced back in the afternoon. Investors weren’t happy with the current state of geopolitical uncertainty, with trade disputes threatening to become larger problems than ever. But the release of the minutes of the latest meeting of the Federal Reserve’s monetary policy committee convinced many that the central bank will be slow to do lasting damage to the economic expansion, remaining measured in the pace of its interest rate increases. Moreover, some companies had good news that sent their shares higher. Tiffany (NYSE:TIF), BP Prudhoe Bay Royalty Trust (NYSE:BPT), and Ralph Lauren (NYSE:RL) were among the best performers on the day. Here’s why they did so well.

As a case in point, consider BP Prudhoe Bay Royalty Trust (NYSE:BPT), which is currently paying out an extrapolated $5.10 a year, based on the $1.275 per share it divvied out in April. This is good enough for a better than 17% annual yield, albeit it should be noted that the Trust’s payout differs each quarter depending on its royalty revenue and cash earnings.

Hot Energy Stocks To Own For 2019: Shell Midstream Partners, L.P.(SHLX)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Reuben Gregg Brewer]

There’s an interesting dichotomy here, however. Crestwood was looking to stay financially disciplined, but it also needed to invest to grow. Doing both at the same time is difficult, which is why it partnered up with Con Ed in the Marcellus region, Shell Midstream Partners LP (NYSE:SHLX) and First Reserve in the Delaware Basin, and Williams Partners (NYSE:WPZ) in the Powder River basin. These agreements allow Crestwood to keep expanding its business without having to foot the entire bill for the investments.

Most investors have probably heard of energy giants Royal Dutch Shell (NYSE:RDS-A) (NYSE:RDS-B), Dominion Energy (NYSE:D), and TransCanada (NYSE:TRP). Fewer, however, are likely familiar with their publicly traded master limited partnerships (MLPs): Shell Midstream Partners (NYSE:SHLX), Dominion Energy Midstream Partners (NYSE:DM), and TC Pipelines (NYSE:TCP). That might be a good thing, as the market has beaten up the latter trio this year, sending their valuations south.

Pontoon boats are a versatile vessel as they can be used for fishing, sports, cruising, and day trips. That latter part is key because rival boatmaker Brunswick (NYSE:BC) — which Polaris used to have a business relationship with when it was in the marine market — says that overnight trips with boats are fading. Energy was the other S&P sector in the green yesterday, helped by rising oil prices and excitement about the tie up between Marathon Petroleum Corp (NYSE: MPC) and Andeavor (NYSE: ANDV). Devon Energy Corp (NYSE: DVN) was the biggest gainer in the sector, rising more than 5 percent after the company raised its annual production forecast. (See more on oil below.)

  • [By Matthew DiLallo]

Saudi Aramco’s valuation, however, isn’t the only one that would benefit from a pop in the price of crude. Many oil producers in the U.S. restructured their operations to run on $50 oil, so if the Saudi strategy is successful, these oil companies would produce a gusher of cash flow, which could fuel high-octane gains for investors. While that rise would likely lift the entire sector, Devon Energy (NYSE:DVN) and Marathon Oil (NYSE:MRO)could outperform in that scenario.

  • [By Matthew DiLallo]

As expected, EOG Resources’ U.S. oil output came in above the midpoint of its forecast and was up 15% year over year. Fueling that high-end result were the many wells EOG completed across its vast shale portfolio. The company completed 70 wells in the Delaware Basin during the quarter, with several producing more than 2,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (BOE/D) in their first month. While the company didn’t match Devon Energy’s (NYSE:DVN) record-smashing 24,000 BOE/D two-well gusher, its wells were highly productive and generated excellent returns.

  • [By Matthew DiLallo]

Oil prices have continued rebounding this year, with the U.S. benchmark price WTI up another 7% to around $65 per barrel. That improving oil price has helped drive up most oil stocks. I say most because Devon Energy (NYSE:DVN), Apache (NYSE:APA), and Newfield Exploration (NYSE:NFX) are flat to down so far this year because investors seem to have overlooked them entirely. Because of that, they trade for a dirt-cheap valuation versus their peers, making them intriguing options to consider.

Hot Energy Stocks To Own For 2019: Concho Resources Inc.(CXO)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Matthew DiLallo]

ConocoPhillips’ global portfolio is proving to be a big competitive advantage because 70% of its oil production sells at Brent pricing, which is the global oil benchmark. Currently, Brent fetches more than $75 per barrel, while WTI, the U.S. benchmark, sells for $10 less a barrel. In the meantime, due to the lack of adequate pipeline takeaway capacity in the Permian, oil in that region currently sells for less than $60 a barrel, thereby pinching producer profits. That lower oil priceis much less of a concern for ConocoPhillips, according to Bernstein, since it only gets 4% to 5% of its production from the Permian whereas pure-play Permian producers like Concho Resources (NYSE:CXO) only produce from that region. That’s why Bernstein downgraded Concho’s stock from outperform to market perform while slashing its price target from $180 a share all the way down to $130.

Tredje AP fonden’s holdings in Concho Resources were worth $2,017,000 at the end of the most recent quarter.

Top 10 High Tech Stocks To Buy Right Now

Home Depot Inc. (NYSE:HD) has long been a reliable and solid investment. Over the past five years, HD stock has shot up 240% compared to 80% for the S&P 500.

It would’ve seemed like 2016 was primed to continue that trend. The company’s earnings and revenues so far in 2016 have been encouraging. Both earnings per share and revenues have outperformed year over year for the first three quarters. However, Home Depot stock is up less than 4% year to date.

A reason for concern? No. More like an opportunity for those looking to add a quality long-term holding like HD stock to their portfolios.

Japan’s plans to develop its renewable energy industry are lagging much of the world, as the nation has “prioritized keeping the status quo for fear of change,” Foreign Minister Taro Kono said.

We will contrast the two businesses based on the strength of their risk, institutional ownership, profitability, dividends, valuation, analyst recommendations and earnings.

  • [By Matthew DiLallo]

That trend was one of the central themes on the first-quarter conference call of oil-field technology company Core Labs (NYSE:CLB), where CEO David Demshur provided his take for why things are different in the oil market this time around.

  • [By Logan Wallace]

Core Laboratories (NYSE:CLB) was downgraded by analysts at Zacks Investment Research from a hold rating to a sell rating. According to Zacks, “Following Core Laboratories' disappointing second-quarter guidance, we are recalibrating our investment thesis on the company to a 'Sell'. In fact, shares declined more than 13% after the company downwardly revised its second-quarter outlook amid deferred international activities. Delayed activities in the North Sea, Middle East and Asia-Pacific regions as well as the Gulf of Mexico will impact its revenues in the Reservoir Description unit. To make things worse, CLB anticipates sluggishness in the overseas segment to continue in the third quarter as well. Core Laboratories is anticipated to face other near-term headwinds as well. The paucity of deepwater drilling orders and lower levels of new wells, which will hamper the specialized service provider’s near-term results, are other negatives in the CLB story. Therefore, we see the company as a risky bet that is best avoided at the moment.”

Wall Street suffered a sharp drop on Tuesday, with major benchmarks posting substantial declines in response to a combination of economic factors. The yield on the 10-year Treasury bond climbed above 3% for the first time since 2014, but of greater concern to many market participants were remarks in major corporate earnings reports suggesting that business conditions had likely hit their peak and were poised to deteriorate going forward. With raw materials costs starting to pick up, many manufacturers are reporting inflationary pressures that could hurt profits. Yet even as the broader indexes fell, some individual companies had good news to report. Sanmina (NASDAQ:SANM), Helix Energy Solutions (NYSE:HLX), and Weatherford International (NYSE:WFT) were among the best performers on the day. Here’s why they did so well.

Green investing in the U.K. fell 56 percent last year, sparking concerns in Parliament that the nation will not maintain its lead in clean energy or meet climate targets after leaving the European Union.

“Billions of pounds of investment is needed in clean energy, transport, heating and industry to meet our carbon targets,” said Mary Creagh, a member of Parliament who leads the the Environmental Audit Committee. “A dramatic fall in investment is threatening the government’s ability to meet legally binding climate change targets.”

The U.K. is a leader in clean energy, particularly offshore wind. Britain has installed more turbines in the sea than any other country and generated 15 percent of its electricity from wind and solar in 2016.

Retirement investors want sure things. There isnt enough time to make up for stocks that just fall into the ground, never to return. So considering how awful energy has been for the past couple of years, its probably surprising to see energy stocks and retirement mentioned in the same vicinity.

Sustained low oil and natural gas prices have negatively impacted energy stocks. OK, thats putting it mildly. Low prices have outright strangled some companies right out of business, and has made life miserable for the vast majority of the sector.

In Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game, Michael Lewis shows how smart use of statistics and probability replaced conventional wisdom and gut feelings to transform our national sport through improved strategy. By emphasizing the factors that actually drive victory, performances can be dramatically improved.

In baseball, nobody gets on base every time at bat. But, some players consistently get on base more often than average. Those are the guys you want on your team. If they strike out a couple times in a game, or series, you don’t fire them immediately. Buried within any player’s on base average is a certain amount of randomness that must be endured.

Investing is very much the same. But, before we get too carried away with the analogy, let’s admit up front that baseball depends on raw physical talent to a great extent. Investing presents a far more level playing field where talent is extraordinary rare. So, strategy and execution are proportionally much more important in determining investment results.

Best Stocks To Own For 2018: Intuitive Surgical Inc.(ISRG)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By ]

As of the time of this article, home cleaning robot maker iRobot’s (IRBT) shares are down over 6% on the news. And though it makes surgical robots rather than anything meant for homes, Intuitive Surgical  (ISRG) is down close to 2%. As usual, Wall Street immediately trembles on any sign that Amazon plans to further expand its reach.

I own the company, and in front of my gathered fellow Heels last week, I put Intuitive Surgical on this list, as well, so I present it for you again today. It reminds us to continue to add to our winners. It was a winner a year ago. It had a three for one stock split, something that I don’t personally care about. I don’t think we should spend a lot of time talking about stock splits. I realize some people think they’re exciting or are confused by them.

Friday was a poor day on Wall Street, as the Dow Jones Industrials fell 200 points and other major benchmarks lost about 1%. Rising bond yields were a major source of consternation among those following the financial markets, with the 10-year Treasury hitting 2.95% and helping to send mortgage rates sharply higher. Even though earnings season has gone fairly well for many companies, some investors are also starting to realize that political issues are likely to cloud the outlook for the U.S. economy in the coming months, creating more uncertainty that could stymie further market gains. Some bad news affecting individual companies also added to the negative mood. Stanley Black & Decker (NYSE:SWK), ManpowerGroup (NYSE:MAN), and Sage Therapeutics (NASDAQ:SAGE) were among the worst performers on the day. Here’s why they did so poorly.

Top 10 Energy Stocks To Watch For 2018

Is it time to buy the best energy companies? Maybe yes, maybe not. I imagine the price of oil will back and fill for a few more months. You never know. But two things we do know:

(1) America will still need more oil and gas than it did last year, which was more than the year before, and that consumption was still higher than the preceding year, and

(2) The Permian Basin of west Texas and southeastern New Mexico, which currently produces 25% of all US oil, is likely to grow that percentage and add significant natural gas production as well. The most prolific basin in the USA is the biggest beneficiary of advanced drilling technologies that didn’t exist 5 years ago. We’ve always known the oil and gas were there – now the techniques exist to get to them.

Apache Corp (NYSE:APA) just announced a huge increase in oil reserves based upon more thorough seismic mapping of its properties, sending its stock higher by 7% in one day. The graphic below comes to us from Apache via Marketwatch (along with the in-frame typo) and shows that their big discovery is in the Delaware Formation of the Permian.

Top 10 Energy Stocks To Watch For 2018: ConocoPhillips(COP)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Matthew DiLallo]

Oil prices have been on fire over the past year and recently topped $70 a barrel, which is the highest crude has been since late 2014. That rally in the oil market has helped fuel big-time gains in many oil stocks. Three that stand out are Anadarko Petroleum (NYSE:APC), Hess (NYSE:HES), and ConocoPhillips (NYSE:COP) because each has risen more than 20% this year. They might still have additional upside from here given that all three plan on spending billions of dollars to buy back more of their stock.

From 2016 to 2017, Exxon Mobil Corp. (NYSE: XOM) saw a 16% boost in profits, while Chevron Corp. (NYSE: CVX) saw a 30% boost. Texas-based ConocoPhillips Corp. (NYSE: COP) saw a strong 37.5% boost.

As things stand right now, analysts anticipate that at least some Iranian oil will come off the market as a result of the sanctions. That lost output would further tighten an oil market that suddenly has little margin for error thanks to red-hot demand and tame supply growth. That’s the recipe for higher oil prices and could make top-tier U.S. oil stocks Anadarko Petroleum (NYSE:APC), Devon Energy (NYSE:DVN), and ConocoPhillips (NYSE:COP) big winners in the coming years.

TD Ameritrade clients appeared to take some profits in multiple names during the period. Oil companies were popular sells with ConocoPhillips (NYSE: COP), BP  PLC (ADR) (NYSE: BP), National-Oilwell Varco Inc. (NYSE: NOV), and Transocean LTD (NYSE: RIG) all net sold. Oil prices traded near three-year highs on higher global demand and possible OPEC-led production cuts. COP and BP both traded at multi-year highs, while NOV and RIG reached 52-week highs, enticing clients to take profits in all four names. Alcoa Corp. (NYSE: AA) traded at levels not seen since before the financial crisis following proposed tariffs on steel and aluminum, and was net sold. For the third month in a row, Facebook, Inc. (NASDAQ: FB) was net sold after CEO Mark Zuckerberg testified before Congress regarding the misuse of user data and a beat on earnings.

Top 10 Energy Stocks To Watch For 2018: Sunoco LP(SUN)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By ]

That’s the case for Sunoco (NYSE: SUN). After posting a net loss of $0.09 per share in 2017, the gas station owner is expected to swing to a hefty profit of $2.35 per share in 2018. But of the 14 analysts who follow the company, earnings estimates range as low as $1.22 and as high as $3.35 — so there is a high degree of uncertainty.

  • [By Matthew DiLallo]

The only segment where earnings declined was the catch-all one labeled “all other,” which houses different investments such as its stake in Sunoco L.P. (NYSE:SUN) and PES, a refining joint venture. PES has struggled due to higher costs, and recently declared bankruptcy. Meanwhile, Energy Transfer’s earnings from Sunoco L.P. declined because that entity sold the bulk of its retail assets and then used that cash to repurchase a portion of Energy Transfer’s investment.

Anyone that has watched oil prices tick up recently has probably expected oil producers to report some impressive earnings results this past quarter, and Statoil (NYSE:STO) did just that with a 21% boost to the bottom line. That dollar in your wallet has a bigger impact on your finances than you might think.

When it comes to financial topics, currencies like the greenback are about as complicated as it gets. Interest-rate talk can also cause confusion.

But since President Trump made headlines this week, warning that the dollar “is getting too strong” and that he’s a fan of a “low-interest rate policy” — comments which briefly sparked a dollar selloff and have fueled a rally in long-term U.S. government bonds, pushing yields down to five-month lows — getting a handle on what this market-relatedchatter means for your wallet makes good financial sense.

Top Safest Stocks To Invest In Right Now

When your firm is known for its dividend safety and is primarily held by retirees and other income-seekers, the worst thing you can do is cut your dividend. Pipelines were supposed to be safe tollways that produced plenty of cash flows. So, when the oil bust hit Kinder Morgan Inc (NYSE:KMI) hard and the firm was forced to cut its dividend back in 2015, investors pretty much abandoned Kinder Morgan stock.

Kinder Morgan stock has pretty much languished since that fateful day. But it might not be languishing anymore.

Moves to right the ship at Kinder Morgan have begun to work and KMI has finally given long-suffering shareholders what they wanted all the time — a big return to dividend growth. With its latest mega-sized increase, Kinder Morgan stock is once again on top of the dividend pile. For income-seekers, this could mean that shares could finally be a big-time buy.

Needed Cut at Kinder Morgan

It’s no secret that the oil slump hurt all manner of energy stocks. And while the pipeline players were supposed to be the safest of the bunch, it turns out they were hit just as hard. Or harder, as was the case at Kinder Morgan.

The stock market jumped on Wednesday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average finishing up by triple digits and other major benchmarks following suit with similar-sized gains. Attention once again focused on the oil market, where prices rebounded to climb to new multiyear highs above $71 per barrel. Investors seem to see oil’s strength as indicating stronger levels of economic activity, choosing not to fear any adverse pressure on prices that could result from higher costs for consumers and businesses that rely on energy products. Good news from several individual companies also helped keep sentiment positive. Axon Enterprise (NASDAQ:AAXN), TripAdvisor (NASDAQ:TRIP), and iQiyi (NASDAQ:IQ) were among the best performers on the day. Here’s why they did so well.

Calumet Specialty Products Partners, L.P. (NASDAQ:CLMT) is attempting to shift gears as it refocuses around higher-margin refined chemicals products. The plan sounds good on paper, and the independent refiner appears to be making progress. However, after a doubling of the price over the past year, most investors need to think carefully before jumping on this bandwagon. Here’s why.

  • [By Maxx Chatsko]

Two turnaround stocks drawing attention from investors are propane distributor Ferrellgas Partners L.P. (NYSE:FGP) and specialty refiner Calumet Specialty Products Partners LP (NASDAQ:CLMT).
