Top Undervalued Stocks To Watch Right Now

As the stock market has rallied since Donald Trump’s election in November, Constellation Brands (STZ) has basically sat it out, weighed down by concerns that a new tax plan would hurt the multinational alcoholic beverage company’s profits.

Morgan Stanley’s Dara Mohsenian and team, however, contend that those concerns are way overdone. They explain why:

While fundamentals clearly remain strong, the market has been more focused on potential risks from tax policy changes under the new Republican administration recently. This is a fair concern, as taxation risk from border adjustment taxes is certainly a wild card. However, we still view Constellation’s stock as very attractive here as our top beverage pick, as a) we believe the stock was the most undervalued vs its peers prior to tax risk emerging, and b) we believe the market is already pricing in tax policy risk. In terms of judging tax policy risk priced into Constellation’s stock, we estimate roughly 1,000 bps of stock under-performance since the election from tax policy risk (this is due to Constellation’s stock underperforming the median/average of our coverage universe by 600-700 bps since the election, despite much better than expected beer scanner data results which we assume would probably have driven a few hundred basis points of stock outperformance, for a net 1,000 bps or so of under-performance). Given: 1) our base case assumption of EPS impact in a border adjustment/tax change scenario assuming it passes is a -6% EPS impact and even a bear case is only a -19% EPS impact, and 2) we still believe a border adjustment policy is only about a 35% probability for numerous reasons, we see this stock pullback as overdone.

It might seem odd that the industry’s biggest winner so far this year isn’t growing. In fact, Noodles & Co. (NASDAQ:NDLS) recently posted a quarterly net loss while revenue decreased 5%. But that result still shot past investors’ expectations by showing surprising progress in the casual-dining chain’s recovery efforts. Noodles & Co. has lots of work ahead of it before it can snap out of its four-year stretch of annual net losses. Yet, with shares having fallen by over 80% since 2013, even modestly good news proved to be enough to spark at least a short-term rally in the stock.

Best Blue Chip Stocks To Own Right Now: ONEOK Inc.(OKE)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Lee Jackson]

The volatile price of natural gas over the past year has weighed some on this top energy stock. ONEOK Inc. (NYSE: OKE) primarily engages in natural gas transportation, storage and natural gas and natural gas liquids (NGLs) gathering, processing and fractionation in the Bakken, Mid-Continent and Permian. The company recently closed the roll-up of its underlying master limited partnership, ONEOK Partners.

  • [By Ethan Ryder]

ONEOK, Inc. (NYSE:OKE)’s share price reached a new 52-week high and low during mid-day trading on Thursday . The stock traded as low as $68.88 and last traded at $68.33, with a volume of 81549 shares changing hands. The stock had previously closed at $67.81.

  • [By Matthew DiLallo]

When ONEOK (NYSE:OKE) acquired its master limited partnership last year, the company thought the deal would give it enough fuel to grow its dividend 21% in 2017 and at a 9% to 11% annual pace through 2021. At the time, the two pipeline companies had between $1.5 billion to $2.5 billion of growth projects under development, which ONEOK thought would provide it with enough fuel to achieve that aim. Fast-forward not more than a year later, and the company has now secured more than $6 billion of expansions, which should give it the fuel to grow its earnings at an accelerated clip in the coming years, making it an excellent stock for those seeking both growth and income.

  • [By Max Byerly]

Prudential Financial Inc. boosted its stake in ONEOK (NYSE:OKE) by 1.0% during the 1st quarter, according to its most recent Form 13F filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The institutional investor owned 535,375 shares of the utilities provider’s stock after acquiring an additional 5,560 shares during the period. Prudential Financial Inc.’s holdings in ONEOK were worth $30,474,000 at the end of the most recent reporting period.

  • [By Matthew DiLallo]

However, the company did take a major step toward improving those numbers by recently selling its 20% interest in the West Texas LPG Pipeline to its joint venture partner ONEOK (NYSE:OKE). It was a win-win deal for both companies. In ONEOK’s case, it now has full control over a pipeline that it intends on expanding further in the future. Meanwhile, the deal provided Martin Midstream with some much-needed cash as well as saving it from having to come up with funding for those expansion projects. As a result, the sale helped improve the company’s leverage ratio to a slightly better 4.36 while also keeping it on track to maintain a 1.0 coverage ratio for the full year. While those are dramatic improvements, the company’s payout still isn’t sustainable, which suggests that Martin Midstream will likely need to reduce its high-yielding distribution at some point in the future.

  • [By Max Byerly]

Bronfman E.L. Rothschild L.P. increased its holdings in ONEOK (NYSE:OKE) by 86.1% in the 1st quarter, according to its most recent filing with the SEC. The institutional investor owned 14,456 shares of the utilities provider’s stock after buying an additional 6,690 shares during the quarter. Bronfman E.L. Rothschild L.P.’s holdings in ONEOK were worth $823,000 at the end of the most recent reporting period.

There are several parts of the value chain that create natural and organic goods:

Individual organic farmers, who you largely cannot invest in. Producers of organic foods, who take farmer’s goods and combine them for consumption. This includes players likeHain Celestial (NASDAQ:HAIN),SunOpta, andLifeway Foods. Grocers with a focus on natural and organic goods, which originally includedWhole Foods (now owned by Amazon),Sprouts Farmers Market (NASDAQ:SFM), andNatural Grocers — what I refer to as “pure-play,” which are grocers with a sole focus on organic. But the list now includes big names likeKroger(NYSE:KR),Costco(NASDAQ:COST), andWalmart(NYSE:WMT). Distributors specializing in natural and organic food, primarilyUnited Natural Foods.

When the Great Recession hit, many of these pure-play natural and organic companies (read: not Costco, Walmart, or Kroger) were devastated. Consumers were pinching pennies and unwilling to pay the extra money for organic fruits.

Top 10 Medical Stocks To Own For 2019: Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft (VLKAY)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By ]

I drove the QX30 for a few days and it was a bit of a doozy. The thing I like the most about the QX30 is its styling. It is basically a Volkswagen (OTCPK:VLKAY) (OTCPK:VLKAF) Golf type of a hatchback, but it looks very good, especially from the rear and from the rear profile. Very similar to the Mazda 3, it looks a lot wider than it is.

New York Times broke the story of the Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) Volkswagen (OTCPK:VLKAY) (OTCPK:VLKAF) partnership for the future of the automobile industry: here.

  • [By ]

The recent news – according to the NY Times – that Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) has selected Volkswagen (OTCPK:VLKAY) (OTCPK:VLKAF) as its automotive partner, got me thinking: How are Volkswagen’s sales numbers doing anyways? Aren’t we told that Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA), now that the Model 3 started deliveries in the second half of 2017, is putting the other automakers under pressure, sales wise?

BMW joins rival Volkswagen AG (NASDAQOTH:VLKAY) as a CATL customer. Another BMW rival, Mercedes-Benz parent Daimler AG, said that it is in talks with CATL about buying batteries from the Erfurt plant.

Volkswagen AG (VLKAY) led the Dax higher, gaining 1.02% to 178.82, after the German carmaker reshuffled its top management, naming former BMW AG (BMWYY) executive Herbert Diess as CEO, replacing Matthias Mueller, in the company’s biggest management change since the diesel emissions scandal in 2015.

Best Low Price Stocks To Buy For 2019

Following past boom/bust cycles, the oil business appears to have bottomed in February 2016 at $27 a barrel. The bruising multi-year bust in crude oil prices was the biggest reason for the world stock market sell-off from late 2015 to early 2016 of roughly 15% overall. The cruel irony of ultra-low prices is its disruptive effect on regular exploration activity. A short-term oil market depression in expectations disproportionately slashes oil drilling activity. Oil exploration budgets for 2017 are down 65% from 2014 and the smallest in 12 years, DESPITE a record estimate for global demand next year. In the long-run, oil & gas development and production may fail to keep pace with the steady growth in total demand. Will the 2015-16 “bust” sow the seeds of the next “boom” phase in pricing?

Why The Trade Desk, Noodles & Co., and Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Jumped Today

The stock market finished mixed on Friday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average gaining ground even as some broader benchmarks finished closer to unchanged for the day. In the absence of major news, investors seemed content to let positive trends from earlier in the week continue to play out, anticipating a favorable end to the first-quarter earnings season and hoping for more progress on the macroeconomic and geopolitical fronts to defuse potential controversies. (NASDAQ:NDLS), and Regeneron Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:REGN) were among the best performers on the day. Here’s why they did so well.

The Trade Desk puts a good spin on its quarter

Shares of The Trade Desk soared more than 43% after the company reported first-quarter earnings. The provider of programmatic advertising services said that its revenue was higher by more than 60% compared to the year-earlier quarter, with adjusted earnings almost doubling from year-ago levels. Dramatic growth in mobile ads, including mobile video and in-app spending, helped lift the company, as did audio and television ad spending. Trade Desk expects to sustain that momentum for the remainder of the year, boosting its guidance for 2018 as a whole. With its fingers on the pulse of the advertising revenue that drives the business models of the majority of companies on the internet, Trade Desk has plenty of opportunity to keep growing.

Noodles: Best served hot

Noodles & Company stock jumped 15% in the wake of the company’s first-quarter financial results. The restaurant chain said that revenue fell 5%, with the year-ago decision to close 55 locations having weighed on top-line performance. Comparable-restaurant sales were down a more modest 0.2%, and adjusted net loss per share narrowed by half compared to the first quarter of 2017. Executives believe that the strategic initiatives that the noodle-focused chain has implemented will keep generating positive results toward a full turnaround. Investors have started believing in Noodles again, and if the restaurant chain can get back to positive comps for the full year, it will mark a key victory for Noodles shareholders going forward.

Has Regeneron hit bottom?

Finally, shares of Regeneron Pharmaceuticals climbed 6%. The biotech company has been in the doldrums for nearly a year now, falling more than 40% just since last August, and pressure on the biotech industry more broadly has weighed on Regeneron. Yet today’s move seems like a justified bounce, and those who are bullish on the stock point to potential success from key prospects like Dupixent, which is currently approved for atopic dermatitis treatment and could see indications expand to asthma patients as well. Even after the drop, Regeneron shares are far from cheap, but those who still see plenty of healthy growth might find current the stock price a bit easier to swallow than loftier levels in past years.

Blue chip stocks are among the worst retirement investments you can make.

There are several blue-chip stocks that will actually cost you thousands of dollars each year. We&a;rsquo;ll discuss three in a moment.

Sure, the financial media might lionize these stocks. But blue chips are simply big companies. When the term first came into being, it was simply an homage to the blue poker chip &a;ndash; at the time, the most valuable chip on the table. Before purples, oranges and grays began to grace the baize.

However, now the term comes with a boat load of perks &a;ndash; the simple assignment of the term &a;ldquo;blue chip&a;rdquo; is practically a buy recommendation. And therein lies the danger. Because in many cases, these larger companies have not only hit the end of their growth cycle, but are nearing the latter stages of their dividend growth cycle as well.

On a more positive note, Flannery appears to be making ground on some key long-term objectives.

Management feels “good” about the ability of the healthcare segment to outperform, according to Miller. Flannery claimed GE was in “active discussions” on some aviation platforms, current & lighting and distributed power, while an announcement on the divestment of transportation (rumored to be a target of Wabtec (NYSE:WAB)) is expected by the end of the second quarter. Structural cost reductions are now expected to be above the $2 billion target outlined on the investor day presentation in November 2017. Flannery outlined that he would lead the creation of a new operating system for GE based on “lean, six sigma ad agile” involving “continuous improvement and customer experience.”

As a reminder, GE has promised $20 billion of asset sales, and the commentary on the earnings call was reassuring, particularly as the first deal (healthcare IT assets) was underwhelming.

On one particularly big news day, April 28, the DSCA announced that it has notified Congress of no fewer than seven separate pending arms sales that it plans to push through. These deals are aiming to sell:

110 radar-seeking air-to-ground “HARM” missiles to Australia, generating sales of $137.6 million for prime contractors Orbital ATK (NYSE:OA) and Raytheon (NYSE:RTN). Four P-8A Poseidonsubmarine-hunting jet aircraft to New Zealand — a $1.46 billion payday for Boeing (NYSE:BA). 13 76 mm cannonfor installation aboard Israeli Navy SA’AR 4.5 and SA’AR 6 Missile Patrol Boats at a purchase price of $440 million. (Italian firm Leonardo S.p.a.’s DRS North America subsidiary will be the contractor on that one.) Nine Bell 429light utility helicopters to Slovakia, yielding sales of $150 million for Textron (NYSE:TXT). And five CH-47D Chinookhelicopters, sold out of U.S. government surplus to Greece for $80 million.

Also included in the DSCA’s list of pending contracts are two directed toward the NATO Support and Procurement Agency, specifically:

Much of this was based on educated guesswork, however, as we extrapolated what we knew about the finances at SpaceX rivalsBoeing(NYSE:BA),Lockheed Martin(NYSE:LMT),Orbital ATK(NYSE:OA), andAirbus(NASDAQOTH:EADSY), and applied it to what wethoughtthat might mean for SpaceX’s own finances. It would have been a whole lot easier to just take a good hard look at SpaceX’s own financial documents, and get the answers straight from the source.

What better way, Bill surmised, to make surefire profits amid the turmoil than to literally invest in our nation’s safety? You see, by keeping an eye on which companies Uncle Sam is contracting to develop these defense systems – and which of these systems are actually working – you can stand to make serious profits. Indeed, one of Bill’s main recommendations is Boeing Co. (NYSE: BA) – a firm directly involved in both the GMD and THAAD’s production.

Top 10 Blue Chip Stocks To Watch Right Now: Rigel Pharmaceuticals Inc.(RIGL)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Dan Caplinger]

Thursday ended in the red for most major benchmarks on Wall Street, with the Dow trading down by triple digits at times before climbing back toward the close. After having bounced back sharply in recent days, stocks seemed to lose upward momentum, and interest rate fears returned to the market. The yield on the 10-year Treasury bond once again moved above the 2.9% mark, and shorter-term Treasurys had yields reach levels they haven’t seen in years. Yet even though the overall market was ready to take a break, some companies still enjoyed good news that lifted their shares. Bank of New York Mellon (NYSE:BK), Snap-on (NYSE:SNA), and Rigel Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:RIGL) were among the best performers on the day. Here’s why they did so well.

  • [By Lisa Levin]

Rigel Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ: RIGL) shares dropped 22 percent to $2.52 after the company reported results from the second FIT Phase 3 study for fostamatinib. The company disclosed that the study did not meet primary endpoint.

There’s an interesting paradox happening right now surrounding Shopify (NYSE:SHOP). The company — which provides a platform for small and medium-sized businesses to establish an e-commerce presence — has been in the cross hairs of protestors, led by the group SumofUs.com, for providing a platform for the far-right news agency Breitbart. And yet, the stock has never been better, advancing over 60% this year in the face of the protests.
