At some point in any romantic relationship, this question may arise: "Why do you love me?" The moment is fraught with danger and the answer needs to come quickly and without hesitation. Otherwise, well, who knows. The worst possible answer would be, "Because you're a person."<
A selfie reveals more than whether it’s a good hair day. Facial lines and contours, droops and dark spots could indicate how well you’re aging, and, when paired with other data, could someday help determine whether you qualify for life insurance.
“Your face is something you wear all your life, and it tells a very unique story about you,” says Karl Ricanek Jr., co-founder....More>>>
Last week, Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF) released its latest long-term forecast for the electric vehicle (EV) marketplace. The analysts are forecasting that sales of light-duty vehicles (passenger cars, pickups, and SUV/crossovers) will rise from around 1% in 2016 to 54% of all vehicle sales by 2040. By that time, one-third of the entire global fleet will be electrified.
Regulators are not required by the Constitution, but Congress, perverse as it is, is the body closest to the people, getting put up for election regularly. Of course Congress should oversee financial regulation and monetary policy froman unelected Federal Reserve. That’s their job.

In what was one of the wildest weeks of 2016, investors were out in full force buying stocks, and that was something that had insiders waiting to sell shares licking their chops. With the third-quarter earnings parade over, many of the windows prohibiting insider trades are opening back up, and the positive markets and extreme liquidity made the timing perfect for those selling.
Back in February I wrote about how at $7.34 per share I thought it was a good time to take a hard look at Consol Energy (NYSE:CNX). As per usual this idea was found by studying the portfolio of a world class investor.
In the case of Consol that investor was David Einhorn.
What I thought was especially attractive about Consol was that Einhorn had bought the stock at prices as high as....More>>>
We are coming into the fall and the third quarter, aftera surprisingly solid push fromthe markets over the summer. Analysts may say it isnt fundamentally sound but that does not detract from the gains. The high valuations, low volatility, no sell in May and go away and even weak economic data and earnings seem immaterial at this point.
The bull market is now over seven years old. Still, the....More>>>
If you are looking for a three-bagger, you can’t go wrong with GDXJ. And if you are looking for a five-bagger, SILJ will do the trick. However, if you want a good risk/reward stock with 10-bagger potential, those are becoming harder to find. From the recent selloff in gold/silver miners, I have three for you.
The US dollar is bid against all the major and most emerging market currencies. An important driver is the backing up of US rates. The two-year yield, which is particularly sensitive to Fed policy is at its highest level since early June (~86 bp). The US 10-year yield is five basis points higher today at 1.77%, which is the highest in four months.
Deutsche Bank’s Myles Walton and team explain why they’re bullish on Boeing (BA) despite its recent woes:

It’s much easier to be a bull on defense than it is to be positive on anything in commercial aero. That being said, we see Boeing worth the effort given the still strongest prospects for sustainable cash growth and cash return....More>>>

After stumbling badly on negative publicity about foodborne illness at some of its restaurants, the fast casual dining industry’s once unstoppable frontrunner finally caught a break: On February 1, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) declared Chipotle Mexican Grill (NYSE: CMG) free of the nasty E. coli bug responsible for the illness outbreak.
Interest rates at FDIC-insured banks remain at an all-time low. I've tracked rates for more than a decade on sites such as Magnify Money and Consumerism Commentary. Back in the day rates of 5.00% or more were common. It may take us years to get back to those levels.
Futures are indicating a break in the rally as investors take stock of how quickly we’ve seen the rally lift stocks. From a technical perspective, the market remains in an overall trading range as we’ve not seen a technical catalyst that can sustain a trend higher in the S&P
