Top Clean Energy Stocks To Own Right Now

Is the United States trying to eliminate China as an economic threat?

And is Trump recruiting a critical ally in support thereof?

Today we peer behind the sturm und drang of daily events… and pursue the deep currents of strategy beneath the roiling surface.

Our tale begins in 2015 with a Chinese government report — Made in China 2025.

It was released to the blast of trumpets… and great fanfare.

The report details China’s ambitions to lead in such fields as robotics, aerospace, clean energy and advanced materials.

By 2025, for example, China intends to seize 70% of market share for “basic core components and important basic materials” in strategic industries.

The report represents a critical step towards Chinese President Xi Jinping’s distant vision:

China’s being a truly global superpower by 2050.

But China is evidently concerned that its ambitions have attracted worried interest around the world…

Since June, the Chinese government appears to have suppressed all mention of Made in China 2025.

The FDA convenes a meeting to discuss Lilly’s rheumatology drug

Company: Eli Lilly (LLY)

Therapy: Baricitinib

Disease: Moderate-to-severe rheumatoid arthritis

News: The FDA is convening a meeting of the Arthritis Advisory Committee to provide insight into the application submitted by LLY for baricitinib in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. The original application in this disease was rejected by the agency due to a lack of clinical trial data and safety concerns, which LLY has endeavored to rectify. This meeting will take place on April 23.

Looking forward: This is an odd story, as it was the ascension of a new FDA commissioner that prompted the re-application, without any new data acquired. LLY is firm in its belief that the safety data are not particularly alarming. So it’s going to be somewhat telling to see what the ultimate outcome is, as it could signal a different direction for the FDA that many analysts have been anticipating in the Trump era.

Best High Tech Stocks To Watch For 2018

A digital revolution is reshaping India’s $34 billion gold market, with smartphones, e-wallets and flexible investment schemes drawing new buyers into a business dominated by traditional, face-to-face transactions.

Digital payment systems have ballooned in popularity in India since the government scrapped large-value bank notes in 2016.

Among these offerings are applications that enable smartphone users to buy, sell or store gold – even in small amounts – kept in secured vaults operated by MMTC-PAMP India Pvt Ltd, a joint venture between MMTC Ltd, the largest national trading firm, and Swiss gold refiner PAMP.

Although online gold purchases have been growing globally for years, they are a relatively recent phenomenon in India, where jewellery and bars of the precious metal tend to be kept in hand and given as gifts.

Oil prices are at levels we haven’t seen in years. U.S. crude topped $70 for the first since 2014, as U.S. President Donald Trump appeared increasingly likely to pull out of the Iran nuclear deal and reinforce sanctions on Tehran. When President Donald Trump met with top airline executives Thursday, he mentioned one of his most trusted sources of information about the nation’s aviation system — his personal pilot.

“I have a pilot who’s a real expert,” he told them. “He said, ‘Sir, the equipment they’re putting on is just the wrong stuff.’ If we’re going to modernize our system we should be using the right equipment.”

“My pilot, he’s a smart guy, and he knows what’s going on,” Trump added.

Trump did not specify whom he was referring to. But it has been widely reported that John Dunkin has served as the pilot of Trump’s private Boeing 757 jet.

Dunkin has served as Trump’s personal pilot since 1989, according to a Smithsonian Channel documentary about private planes.

Top 5 Stocks To Invest In Right Now: Coach, Inc.(COH)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Ben Levisohn]

…formal language on deal prospects articulates process is proceeding in a timely manner with no definitive timetable and no assurance that process will result in a transaction. We still expect a deal to happen, but do lower our probability from 80% to 70% given the likelihood that potential buyer(s) and KATE have not agreed on a clearing price in earlier rounds of negotiation. We believe a bidder such as Coach (COH) does not want to overpay, is disciplined about managing ROIC, and returns and synergies split may be more rational at an offer price in the range of $22-25. We continue to believe KATE has a long global growth runway ahead with opportunities for store growth abroad, further expansion into non-handbag categories, and supply + digital synergy potential…We rate KATE Market Perform and lower our price target to $21 (was $27). Our updated valuation is based on ~10x our FY18E adj. EBITDA or $284mm.
