Top 10 Blue Chip Stocks To Invest In 2019

If you're like most investors, you've been led to believe that it's impossible to earn large amounts of investment income without taking big risks.   This idea – which you'll hear from many financial advisors and brokers – is simply wrong.   It is possible to earn double-digit annual yields on your money – safely – by selling options.   So why doesn't everyone use this strategy to earn consistent income streams? Below, you'll find the five common objections I've heard from readers or that I've found on the Internet… and my responses to them.   REASON NO. 1: Option-selling strategies like covered calls are too risky. You'll earn 5% in premiums, but if the stock falls 25%, you're still down big!   This objection is 100% valid. The way most people approach covered calls is risky. (If you're unfamiliar with covered calls, I encourage you to read this essay.) These folks buy risky stocks because risky, volatile stocks typically offer larger cash premiums than safe, stable blue chips. But most people end up losing on risky covered-call positions because their stocks fall in value.

Oil prices are at levels we haven’t seen in years. U.S. crude topped $70 for the first since 2014, as U.S. President Donald Trump appeared increasingly likely to pull out of the Iran nuclear deal and reinforce sanctions on Tehran. In addition, OPEC has announced plans to bolster prices and cap production. For oil investors, Money MorningGlobal Energy Strategist Dr. Kent Moors says it’s time to buckle up. According to Moors, revoking the Iran deal would cause “price chaos” around the globe. And that’s right as driving season starts in the United States. Here’s more on the coming chaos for oil. In deal news, Blackstone Group (NYSE: BX) announced it will purchase Gramercy Property Trust (NYSE: GPT) for $7.6 billion in cash. Grammercy manages commercial real estate. While this may seem like a boring deal, Blackstone is buying a business that churns out cold hard cash for its investors. We want to keep this deal on your radar, because there are many other deals like this coming down the pipeline. We’re going to be discussing one of the best real estate opportunities available very soon – so keep an eye out for updates.

I made the mistake in not being able to come to a conclusion where I really felt that at the present prices that the prospects were far better than the prices indicated.” Buffett says he now has a “very, very, very high opinion” of Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos. The Oracle believes that Bezos has created something that is “close to a miracle.” Apple Inc. (Nasdaq: AAPL) added another 0.6% Monday, to reach $185.00 per share – a new 52-week high. The Top Cryptocurrency Stories for Wednesday
Yesterday, one of Bitcoin’s biggest proponents once again released an extremely bullish outlook on the cryptocurrency. Billionaire investor Tim Draper said Tuesday that “Bitcoin is bigger than the Internet,” and he also said its influence will be even bigger than the Industrial Revolution, the Renaissance, and the Iron Age. The statement comes after he released a recent price target of $250,000 by 2022. Not everyone is buying into Bitcoin’s post-tax season rally. Bill Harris, the former CEO of PayPal Holdings Inc. (Nasdaq: PYPL) and Intuit Inc. (Nasdaq: INTU), sounded off Tuesday in an op-ed piece titled “Bitcoin Is the Greatest Scam in History.” Harris called the cryptocurrency a “colossal pump-and-dump scheme” that has no precedent on the world stage. Bitcoin proponents immediately took to social media and online blogs to refute Harris’ arguments. Forbes contributor Kyle Torpey vented that Harris’ focus was misguided and took special issue with his claim that “Bitcoin has no value.” The crypto world has identified JPMorgan Chase & Co. (NYSE: JPM) CEO Jamie Dimon as public enemy No. 1. Computer security pioneer and cryptocurrency guruJohn McAfeecalled out Dimon for attempting – and failing – to “end crypto.” McAfee lobbed a slew of accusations at the big banker via Twitter Inc. In a recent issue of the MIT Technology Review, writers presented three scenarios that could “destroy Bitcoin.” The scenarios include a “government takeover” of the cryptocurrency, the “tokenization of everything” that involves a massive influx of tokens and makes Bitcoin less valuable, and a mas

With bitcoin prices now at their highest levels since March at above $9,200, former Intuit Inc. (NASDAQ: INTU) and Paypal Holdings Inc (NASDAQ: PYPL) CEO Bill Harris wrote an op-ed piece for Recode in which he called bitcoin “the greatest scam in history.” Harris said cryptocurrencies are massive pump-and-dump schemes and fraud artists are taking advantage of cryptocurrency investors naivety and greed. He added that bitcoin has no intrinsic value, isn't an effective store of value and isn't accepted by the vast majority of businesses, making it virtually useless as a means of payment.

Morgan Stanley reported on Wednesday that it has downgraded financial management solution provider Intuit Inc. (INTU).

The firm has cut its rating on INTU to “Underweight,” and has given the company a $62 price target. This price target suggests a 6% decline from the stock’s current price of $66.30. This downgrade reflects the company’s slowing growth of its tax business.

Intuit shares were mostly flat during pre-market trading Wednesday. The stock is up 11% YTD.

Some reasons for my bearishness on retail stocks:

Higher Energy Prices. Oil prices have rallied dramatically and back to 2014 levels, rising from about $35 a barrel in early 2016 to around $67 Thursday. That’s bad news for U.S. retailers, as rising oil prices historically squeeze consumer disposable incomes. That’s one reason why I’ve been consistently raising my short exposure to retail and plan to continue doing so. Shaky Same-Store Sales Growth. Recent improvements to same-store sales at Abercrombie & Fitch (ANF) , Urban Outfitters (URBN) , Dillard’s (DDS) , Gap Inc. (GPS) and Macy’s (M) come against downgraded expectations, and might not be sustainable anyway. No Deal for Nordstrom (JWN) . The Nordstrom family has apparently abandoned plans to take its namesake company private. I had expressed concerns that this would happen. Higher Interest Rates. A rise in the London Inter-Bank Offered Rate (LIBOR) has recently accelerated. That’s bad news for retailers, as many variable-rate consumer debts (particularly mortgages) key off of the LIBOR. This will likely put a damper on mortgage refinancings — something that many see as an important ingredient for personal-consumption expenditures.
