Gold is off nearly 10% since the Nov. 8 election. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is clambering toward 20,000a major milestone for the blue-chip gauge as Wall Street grows euphoric over assets considered risky.
But this isnt the stock market Peter Schiff envisioned when he started scooping up metals and mining shares amid repeated warnings of hard times ahead for equity markets.
Stocks finished in the green–barely–in what appeared to be a day of rest for the markets ahead of tomorrow’s U.S. payrolls report.
The S&P 500 advanced 0.2% to 1,915.45, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 79.92 points, or 0.5%, to 16,416.58. The Nasdaq Composite ticked up 0.1% to 4,509.56.
