Shitij Gandhi

On the derivative front, put writers were seen active in 10,800 & 10,900 strikes while call writers were also seen shifting to the higher band. This clearly indicates that bears are now losing control over the markets.

Hot Warren Buffett Stocks To Buy For 2021: Corcept Therapeutics Incorporated(CORT)

We are a pharmaceutical company engaged in the discovery, development and commercialization of drugs that treat severe metabolic, oncologic and psychiatric disorders by modulating the effects of cortisol. Elevated levels and abnormal release patterns of cortisol are implicated in a broad range of human disorders. Since our inception in 1998, we have been developing mifepristone, a compound that modulates the effects of cortisol by acting as a competitive antagonist at the glucocorticoid receptor (GR). We have also discovered three structurally distinct series of proprietary, selective cortisol modulators, all of which share mifepristone’s affinity for GR but, unlike mifepristone, do not bind to the progesterone receptor, and so do not terminate pregnancy or cause other side effects associated with progesterone receptor antagonism. We have begun pre-clinical and clinical development of our lead compounds from these series.   Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Maxx Chatsko]

Shares of Corcept Therapeutics (NASDAQ:CORT) gained over 11% last month, according to data provided by S&P Global Market Intelligence. The double-digit rise might seem impressive, but it comes on the heels of a report by the Southern Investigative Reporting Foundation (SIRF) that painted the company and its main profit generator, Korlym, a drug approved to treat Cushing’s syndrome, in a negative light. That caused the stock to plunge in late January. As a result, shares have posted a year-to-date loss of 6% through the first week of March.

Top 5 Warren Buffett Stocks To Invest In 2019

Warren Buffett, the billionaire investor, has been outspoken about his disdain for cryptocurrencies.

Bitcoin is “probably rat poison squared,” remarked Buffett before the Berkshire Hathaway meeting on Saturday.

Buffett has never been a fan of any cryptocurrency. “If you buy something like bitcoin or some cryptocurrency, you don’t really have anything that has produced anything. You’re just hoping the next guy pays more,” Buffett said in an April interview with Yahoo Finance. “You aren’t investing when you do that. You’re speculating. There’s nothing wrong with it. If you wanna gamble somebody else will come along and pay more money tomorrow, that’s one kind of game. That is not investing.”

Last November, Buffett made similar remarks. “You can’t value Bitcoin because it’s not a value-producing asset,” he said at the time.

HDFC Securities’ research report on HPCL

HPCL’s 1.34% YoY growth in EBITDA and 2.7% growth in PAT in FY18 was misleading as the FY17 base was formed due to high inventory gains and one-off costs. However, FY18 performance reflects strong operational performance in both refining and marketing businesses. Core EBITDA (net of inventory gains/losses, forex gains/losses, one-off costs, and other operating income) and PAT were thus up 34.5% and 49.2% YoY.

Outlook

Currently, the stock is trading at 6.1x FY21E EV/EBITDA and 7.0x FY21E P/E. Hence, we believe that the stock is currently undervalued. Maintain BUY with target price of Rs 476/share.

Hot Growth Stocks To Buy For 2018

Paychex (NASDAQ: PAYX) is one of those stocks that you wish you bought last year every year. It’s not an explosive growth tech or pharma story- everyone knows the downsides of those. Rather, its a stock that steadily rises, year after year, with rising earnings and dividends, and management who seemingly know what they are doing to make this happen. In other words, real value creation. It sounds so simple, and yet it is so rare in the market. Many household name blue-chips have become such crowded trades that they now have to resort to financial engineering in the form of buybacks to keep the party going. Paychex, at just under $21B market cap, remains small enough not to be swept up with the P&Gs and Colgate-Palmolives of this world.

On a five year basis, this stock has outperformed the SPY by 42% with less volatility, currently sporting a beta of 0.82. Are we too late to the party?

Hot Bank Stocks To Buy Right Now

Factoring in a relatively modest outlook for Trump economic programme on Discover Financial Services (NYSE:DFS) makes the stock stand out attractive while its conservative risk programme and strong capital returns mean there is downside protection. Investors should buy.

When I last wrote about DFS I thought it looked attractive on the basis of its strong capital return credentials but argued that for anyone looking to “outperform” in the near term, the 3Q results had not provided a catalyst sufficient to rerate the stock. Trump took care of that, but in the credit risk space, the 25% move completed by DFS sine November 8th isn’t anything special. Some of the regional banks are up over 30% during this time.

Investors might find some further encouragement in the fact that DFS has an asset sensitive balance sheet, and for a 100bps rise in rates on both sides of its balance sheet, they should enjoy something like a 4% rise in net interest income. Given the interest heaving income, this would give something like a 3% boost to income overall.

Disclosure: I have no positions in Chevron, IBM, Coca Cola, Merck, Procter & Gamble, Verizon, Pfizer, ExxonMobil or any other stock mentioned in this article.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended 2017 up 25.1% for the year, lagging its all-time intraday high of 24,876.07 set on Dec. 18. The eight Dogs of the Dow for 2017 had an aggregate gain of a solid 16.1% for the year.

Boeing (BA) must be removed from the dogs as it was the best performing Dow component for the year with a gain of 89.4%. Its dividend yield fell to just 2.31%, so if you bought this stock a year ago as a dog, book the huge gain now.

Cisco Systems (CSCO) is removed despite a favorable dividend yield of 3.24%, as it had a bull market year with a gain of 26.7%. Book this huge dog gain now.

The question now is more about speed of EV implementation. On the supply side, it has been great to see LAC, Pilbara Minerals (OTCPK:PILBF) and Altura Mining (OTCPK:ALTAF) get funding, but the continued issues with Albemarle’s (NYSE:ALB) LaNegra II expansion and Orocobre (OTCPK:OROCF) ramping up to Phase 1 capacity of 17,500 tonnes/year of lithium carbonate are further evidence that lithium projects take time and have considerable execution risk.

Early-stage lithium producer Orocobre (OTCPK:OROCF) has been busy developing its Argentine flag-ship asset at Olaroz. The company has managed to scale up the asset to around 12,000 T / year LCE with a nameplate production capacity of 17,500 T / year. Although the company has not achieved full production capacity at its asset, it has moved ahead with joint venture partner Toyota Tsusho (OTCPK:TYHOF) to develop plans for Phase 2. In January 2018, Orocobre announced that Toyota Tsusho would invest nearly $300 million for a 15% stake in the company, along with plans to double production capacity at Olaroz to 42,000 T LCE / year. Global oil prices nudged higher Monday even amid reports that Royal Dutch Shell (RDS.A) is re-starting a key Houston refinery that was shuttered by Hurricane Harvey three weeks ago.

Top 5 Performing Stocks To Watch For 2018: Foresight Energy LP(FELP)

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Laurie Kulikowski]

After the recent distribution cut, Foresight’s distribution coverage is over 6.0x with much of the future cash flow dedicated to reducing leverage. It has over 80% of its coal sales priced for next year and its costs should improve as the low cost Hillsboro mine comes back into production early next year. It is also benefitting from cost synergies with the Murray operations. We believe Foresight’s new distribution level is sustainable. With its 15.5% yield, we feel FELP could be attractive to income seeking investors.

  • [By Joseph Griffin]

Foresight Energy (NYSE:FELP) released its quarterly earnings results on Tuesday. The energy company reported ($0.15) earnings per share (EPS) for the quarter, missing analysts’ consensus estimates of ($0.07) by ($0.08), reports. Foresight Energy had a negative net margin of 18.78% and a negative return on equity of 3.93%.

  • [By Laurie Kulikowski]

We rate FORESIGHT ENERGY LP as a Sell with a ratings score of E+. This is based on a variety of negative investment measures, which should drive this stock to significantly underperform the majority of stocks that we rate. The company’s weaknesses can be seen in multiple areas, such as its generally high debt management risk, poor profit margins, generally disappointing historical performance in the stock itself, deteriorating net income and feeble growth in its earnings per share.

  • [By Laurie Kulikowski]

Despite any intermediate fluctuations, we have only bad news to report on this stock’s performance over the last year: it has tumbled by 83.17%, worse than the S&P 500’s performance. Consistent with the plunge in the stock price, the company’s earnings per share are down 82.85% compared to the year-earlier quarter. Naturally, the overall market trend is bound to be a significant factor. However, in one sense, the stock’s sharp decline last year is a positive for future investors, making it cheaper (in proportion to its earnings over the past year) than most other stocks in its industry. But due to other concerns, we feel the stock is still not a good buy right now.

Best High Tech Stocks For 2018

Joydeep Sen

Inthis articlepublished earlier, we discussed that both the markets, equity and debt, look stretched on valuations. At that point of time, the yield on the 10-year government security was approx 6.5% and the overnight interest rate, represented by the RBI repo rate, was 6.25%. The spread was only 25 basis points between overnight and 10-years. This was an anomaly as per the theory of time value of money because the compensation was only 25 basis points for sparing money for 10 years.

Since then, the RBI has cut policy rate in August 17, thereby bringing the overnight rate to 6%. The bond market has corrected and the 10-year G-Sec yield currently is at around 7.35%, taking the average of the existing benchmark 6.79% GoI 2027 and the new benchmark 7.17% GoI 2028. The 10-year to overnight spread at approx 1.35% is attractive.

The equity market has run up further since July ’17. The PE Ratio in July 17 was approx 25 on trailing EPS basis. Currently, it is approx 27.5 on trailing EPS basis. As per the thumb rule to figure out the relative attractiveness between the two markets i.e. equity and debt, the inverse of the 10-year bond yield is compared with the equity PE. Inverse of 7.35% is 13.6, which denotes that if the equity PE is at or less than 13.6, equity is very attractive. Now that equity PE is at approx 27.5, it is not cheap. However, the equity market may witness a PE rerating driven by better earnings growth. Since there is a discounting of future growth in equities, which is not the case with bonds, some premium is justified.

Each made smart acquisitions, with TransCanada buying U.S. gas pipeline company Columbia Pipeline Group, while ONEOK is in the process of gobbling up its MLP,ONEOK Partners (NYSE:OKS). While these deals enhanced the growth profiles of both companies, TransCanada still stands out as the better buy for long-term income investors. Here’s why.

Old National Bancorp (ONB) is a 181-year-old financial institution with 195 branches, mainly in the Midwest. The stock, which is still down by about one-third from its prerecession high, trades at just 13 times projected 2016 earnings and yields an attractive 3.4%. If interest rates ever rise, the bank should benefit from a widening spread between its cost of funds and the interest rates borrowers pay.

It’s a favorite of David Dreman, author of the classic 1980 book Contrarian Investment Strategy. His philosophy: “We believe that the markets are not perfectly efficient.” Some stocks, in other words, are judged by the market to be cheaper than their actual worth.
