Hot Penny Stocks For 2015

The world’s metal is slipping into the shadows.

Banks, hedge funds, commodity merchants and others are stashing tens of millions of tons of aluminum, copper, nickel and zinc in a hidden system of warehouses that span the globe.

These facilities are known to some in the industry as “shadow warehouses” because they are unregulated and don’t disclose their holdings.

They operate outside the London Metal Exchange system of warehouses, the traditional home for these metals.

    3. Chiquita earnings get frozen
Just in time for our favorite part of the year, smoothie season, your favorite childhood banana distributor, Chiquita Brands (NYSE: CQB  ) , reported first-quarter earnings on Friday that investors (figuratively) threw bananas at. Revenue for the first three months of 2014 fell 2% from the same period the previous year, to $762 million.

Furthermore, the court’s finding does not undermine the use of the ATS in cases of human rights abuses. It just requires a stronger connection to the United States. That means that other ATS cases currently working their way through the legal system, such as Earth Rights International’s case against Chiquita (NYSE: CQB  ) for allegedly funding and arming Colombian terrorists, are still on track. That also means that the link from human rights violations to corporate liability remains.

Charlotte, N.C.-based Chiquita Brands (NYSE: CQB  ) will soon have a new chief financial officer — and a new chief operating officer, too. Sort of.

Trailer parks may have a bad reputation, but Yahoo! Finance’s Breakout segment was recently touting trailer parks as a hot new investment area – meaning its time for retail investors who don’t want to invest in physical parks to start taking a closer look at trailer park stocks Equity Lifestyle Properties, Inc (NYSE: ELS), Sun Communities Inc (NYSE: SUI) and UMH Properties, Inc (NYSE: UMH). According to the segment, roughly 6% of Americans lived in trailer homes as of 2012 with the supply of designated trailer parks being quite low because no one wants one in their backyard. Anthony Effinger, the author of another article about trailer parks for Bloomberg, was quoted as saying:

Advisors’ Opinion:

Small cap solar stock Andalay Solar Inc (OTCMKTS: WEST) has largely cratered for investors verses solar stock peers Real Goods Solar, Inc (NASDAQ: RSOL) and SolarCity Corp (NASDAQ: SCTY), but is the company finally turning itself around after a failed deal to be acquired?

  • [By Bryan Murphy]

My enthusiasm regarding Real Goods Solar, Inc. (NASDAQ:RSOL) and Westinghouse Solar Inc. (OTCMKTS:WEST) hasn’t exactly been a veiled secret. Though I’ve favored one over the other at various times since the entire solar panel industry went back into high gear in the middle of the second quarter, I’ve been a fan of both RSOL as well as WEST for a while. The trick has been finding the right entry spot for both of these volatile stocks.

  • [By Bryan Murphy]

It’s fun to be right, but that doesn’t always mean it’s fruitful. I was right about Westinghouse Solar Inc. (OTCMKTS:WEST) being a breakout candidate when I explained the chart’s most likely technical outcome. Though it took a little more than a week for WEST to actually perform as expected, it got there. Problem: It got there in spades, solving one problem but creating another. Though I’m still bullish on this solar play, we need a new roadmap.

Advisors’ Opinion:

  • [By Aaron Levitt]

For those investors looking to take the plunge today, utility NRG (NRG) was the first firm to actually do a YieldCo transaction. NRG Yield (NYLD) holds three natural gas plants, eight utility-scale solar and wind generation facilities and two portfolios of distributed solar facilities. All in all, that’s about 1,324 megawatts worth of generation capacity.

  • [By David Dittman]

NRG Energy Inc’s (NYSE: NRG) 2013 coal-fired share of generation was 28.8 percent, but it’s been actively adding renewable sources. Its stock was up 2.2 percent. NextEra Energy Inc (NYSE: NEE), owner/operator of the largest fleet of renewable generation in the US with just 1.7 percent of its output from coal, was up 2.8 percent.

  • [By Richard Stavros]

The only company that comes close to Dominion is NRG Energy Inc (NYSE: NRG), a firm that presumably would have a higher multiple as it is one of the largest US independent power producers, has substantial unregulated revenue, and is on the cutting edge of implementing new renewable technologies.
