Commitment-phobic pay-TV fans may be closer to getting what they want.
In an industry-first agreement of its kind, Disney agreed to grant Dish Network the right to offer its content, including ESPN and ABC, in a streaming-only service without requiring a set-top box.

Satellite competitor DIRECTV has also suggested it might offer a lower-priced Net service with basic channels and, in a statement to USA TODAY, says it is working on its own similar agreement with Disney.
But that’s not to say that pay-TV companies haven’t been aggressive online. Their streaming option menus expand every day – albeit they still require a monthly subscription and the set-top box. Here are some of the streaming services provided by top pay-TV operators:

Another choice is to use ETFs with a longer-term futures strategy. The United States 12-Month Oil Fund (NYSEMKT: USL ) holds equal positions in each of the next 12 futures contracts. That reduces the positive impact of near-term backwardation, but it gives you more exposure to the heavier backwardation that exists further into the future.

A Delaware corporation formed in 1994, ResMed Inc. (RMD) is a global leading designer, developer, manufacturer and marketer of medical products for the diagnosis, treatment and management of sleep-disordered breathing (SDB) and other respiratory disorders. For the quarter ended in Dec. 31, 2013 ResMed reported a 2 percent increase (a 1 percent increase in constant currency basis) in revenue over the quarter ended in Dec. 31, 2012. However, these earnings failed to meet analyst estimates; and not without a reason. A relatively poor performance was expected due to continued pressure in the United States, especially as a consequence of the market’s restructuring due to competitive Medicare bidding. This might also be one of the reasons why this stock still remains undervalued.

Resmed (RMD) has plunged 12% to $49.50 in after-hours trading after it reported a profit of 56 cents, below estimates of 58 cents.
Cliffs Natural Resources (CLF) has gained after it reported a profit of 68 cents, missing forecasts for 71 cents, but beat on revenue.

In this series, I examine inventory using a simple rule of thumb: Inventory increases ought to roughly parallel revenue increases. If inventory bloats more quickly than sales grow, this might be a sign that expected sales haven’t materialized. Is the current inventory situation at ResMed (NYSE: RMD ) out of line? To figure that out, start by comparing the company’s inventory growth to sales growth. How is ResMed doing by this quick checkup? At first glance, pretty well. Trailing-12-month revenue increased 10.0%, and inventory decreased 9.3%. Comparing the latest quarter to the prior-year quarter, the story looks decent. Revenue increased 9.9%, and inventory shrank 9.3%. Over the sequential quarterly period, the trend looks healthy. Revenue grew 1.9%, and inventory dropped 14.5%.
